CD Projekt Hopes Cyberpunk 2077's Expansion Will Make the Game a Long-Seller Like The Witcher 3

CD Projekt RED discussed its expectations for Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty and gave a bit of color on the development of the next Witcher game during the studio's conference call for investors and analysts.

Start as a corporate path, 15mins later you are doing quests for street thugs.

Characters are shallow, interactions and decissions dont mean anything. V and Johnny are both annoying and the main quest just becomes a meaningless mess as you follow the quest tracker as you no longer know/care what is going on and how it will affect the outcome of the story.

I like the art style and the city itself and the vibes from it but the main story is just boring and missed opportunity in night city.

I fully agree. I got bored 15 or so hours in. The dialogue was terrible that I wanted to skip every cut scene

Did they ever fix the issues that made the console versions less appealing? Specifically for PS5 is what I want to know.

I think it's fine now I bought it on the four and didn't start until all the latest updates. Didn't have any crazy issues on there. Upgraded when I got the five and it's still fine no crashes on there or silly shit. If you can find it on the low it will be worth it.

PS5 version has been fine for a while now. I think the game is about as good as it's going to get now. There's still some issues, but it's usually really minor things that are cleared up after relaunching the game (like shiny objects start glowing super bright and bloom). The biggest issues left are just game design issues they'll probably never address, like how basic some aspects of the character customization is.

Really cannot get into this game even after the patches. I think it was just so underwhelming at launch and I’ve tried and tried again and just can’t get into it. I don’t see the expansion changing that for me anyway.

Same for me. Even if it launched at this state, I would be disappointed. I do like the setting and lore. But the actual gameplay and story is not that great.

I think Deus Ex Human Revolution on my Wiiu is actually a lot better, and offers more interesting gameplay choices.

It’s actually only $3 on GOG. I may pick it up again for PC and replay it.

I will try again with that DLC, but the amount of people defending this game still, is just amazing to me. Someone even said it's one of the best RPG currently. I mean, come on.
I played maybe 20 hours the first time around. There is still no interaction within the world, which makes it all just weird to navigate. I upgraded my weapons almost right away, and it basically made all the stuff I found mediocre so I never changed weapons. Garbage AI. Garbage driving. Garbage combat.
The only thing I found good are the graphics, and as long as you follow the story, then it's somewhat fine, but going back into the empty world just killed it for me.

Agreed - The people defending it are the reason games release in the state they do.

It’s alright to like something but to excuse the fact they conned people into buying it at launch with missing features, bugs aplenty, etc

By the time they patched most of it out, the game was selling for £15.

Can't wait for the Complete Version to come out for the PS6 only to be completely broken by the first patch they release.
