As much as I'd like to get into Star Rail, Genshin Impact is only in the middle of its overall story. There is no way I would have time to play both of these Hoyoverse games, and if I had to choose one to invest in, it'd have to be Genshin Impact since I've already spent so much time in so far and would like to see it through completion.
That, and Star Rail is a turn-based gacha with an auto-play system. That's a trifecta that will always guarantee that there will be a lot of grinding content that you will want to auto through. When it gets to that point, part of the appeal of pulling stronger characters is to make the grinding content that you want to auto through possible (Or easier / higher win rate), rather than pulling for completing actual difficult content.
Just my two cents with my experience in this genre. I tend to give games with this trio a chance at launch, but when signs of the above emerge, I immediately bail. Hasn't failed me yet.
