How The Resident Evil 4 Remake Does The Impossible

Resident Evil 4's remake has accomplished the impossible by recreating a near-legendary game with uncompromising success.

I ordered this for my Series X (digital)! It is sitting in LA waiting to be moved to my new home in Tulsa! It should have been here before us, and the moving company lied! Our stuff won't be here for 5-10 more days! I am PO!

All that being said, when I found out it was getting a free PSVR2 update, I was so bummed I ordered it for Series X instead of my PS5! I don't even have my PSVR2 yet, but it's coming. Looks like I will have to double dip, and buy it for PS5 too. I will wait for it to go on sale for PS5. I played RE 7 in 2D first, and it made me appreciate the PS4VR version even more.

Hopefully you get your stuff soon, i was debating hard between PC and PS5, mostly cause I have the PSVR2 but my pc is pretty high end, with a 4090 and RE4 demo played and looked fantastic on it, but PS5 with the promised VR dlc won at the end.

I’ve been waiting for a game like this for so long! This is genuinely like the best game I’ve played in about 3 years! Rare gold in this generation!

I'm loving it so far. Although I do have the very annoying light flashing bug on the bottom of my screen. Stupid me thought it was a hint for where the blue medallions were at first haha

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

That's a pretty fucking great list

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.

Resident Evil 4 GameCube is 20 Years Old

The classic Resident Evil 4 GameCube release, the title that redfined the hugely popular series, debuted 20 years ago today.

Zeldafan64117d ago (Edited 117d ago )

Bought it the day it came out. Probably the most graphically impressive GameCube game.

Resident evil 1 remake looks better.

Zeldafan64117d ago (Edited 117d ago )

It looks great but it's also pre-rendered backgrounds in tight, enclosed spaces. From a technical perspective RE4 is more impressive.

Agent75117d ago

I'd say Resident Evil Zero which was canned on the Nintendo 64 and ported to the GameCube.

Neonridr117d ago

I still give it up to Factor 5 with Rogue Squadron 2 and 3. Those games look amazing still today. They squeezed a lot out of that box.

RE4 was no slouch either though.

I think I'd give it to Metroid Prime and Echoes. 60fps with all those particle effects, and Samus' reflections.

The Remaster on Switch and Trilogy version on Wii are actually missing certain graphical effects.

The most influential game of all time. Along with the movie Aliens, it has shaped the industry.

Bought a GameCube for Resident Evil. Everything else was just extra.
