Do you mean about microtransactions or the amount of post-launch support? Because I don't think they'd u-turn on the former. The latter will likely depend on how many players they have.
MTX, its happened before where a companies PR will mention they won't ever have mtx in their game, so reviews will be very positive, then afterwards add them in because nobody goes back to edit reviews once its out.
Before Halo infinite released, they had a documentary and a few blogs on their very own site stating how you can earn the armor without spending money.
Did I say it happened before with Arkane? Read what I said again. Its happened before for example Activision did it with Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled, where before launch they say mtx would never be added, then after reviews were done, they were added, its a known tactic. I highly doubt Arkane would do it, but there is always the chance, so as i said, we'll see what they do after reviews are done or if the game doesnt meet sales goals and they feel they need more revenue.
Its 2023, way more games have mtx now than in 2016/17 when Dishonored 2 or Prey were released.
And Arcane belongs to Bethesda. Bethesda belongs to Microsoft. And in Microsoft games..you have a ton of mtx since years. And if I remember it right they did exactly that crap Vengeance mentioned with some of their Forza games.
in general that's how it has happened lately. Launch the game and get good review then add stuff like that later. And as far as post launch support goes we will see too. How many other publishers and developers have promised long support yet in a year or so are done with their games
marvel Avengers Antham mass effect Andromnda back for blood outriders
let's hope arkane do the right thing but we all know it's all about the money
Just out of interest, please could you name the tons of MS games that have MTX?
I'm struggling to think of tons of MS games, let alone ones with MTX, outside of the treasure maps in the Horizon games, so I'm intrigued by the statement.
My bad, you're in an article about an Arkane game saying this is ALWAYS the line before reviews...I didn't know you were actually referring to Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled, a completely different game.
"I highly doubt Arkane would do it..."
Oh, so you now highly doubt Arkane would do it, which sorta contradicts your first post, but yeah, I agree also. I don't think they would turn around and implement MTX after this statement.
Reading comprehension is hard isn't it? I see it is for you. Contradict? Nope, not even a little, try again please. What part of "this is always the line thats used before reviews come out" is contradictory? Thats fact, companies always use not adding in mtx as a selling feature. Doesn't matter if they stay the course or not, they do always say this, its a marketing tool. But im sure you won't understand that. Thinking outside the box is tough for people like you.
Yes, so tough that even Alexious had to question exactly what you were referring too.
"What part of "this is always the line thats used before reviews come out" is contradictory?"
Because your reply right after you said, "I highly doubt Arkane would do it,", lol.
"Doesn't matter if they stay the course or not, they do always say this, its a marketing tool."
So, it doesn't matter if they stay the course and stick to what they said, as Arkane always has, it's still a marketing tool that's always said by other games like Crash Nitro...makes perfect sense.
I looks like a season pass with new characters and other items. Does that mean you can't but the contents individually and have to buy it all together?
"We try to be very clear that there are no microtransactions and there is no store in the game. We're very proud of that. If you find a costume in the game, then you can have it, as simple as that. Other than that, Redfall will be our most supported game post-launch. We went with a server model, so we can update the game constantly. If we see a lot of people falling from ladders and dying, we can update the ladder code. If we see that nobody is playing this character, we can tweak this character and make them more appealing. We have plans for additional guns, costumes, monsters, characters, and more that we can't talk about right now. But we have a strong year of updates, and it's all either in the current game or it will be DLC. We try to do it as fairly as possible for people."
I'm not so much worried about Microtransactions as I am the post launch launch. From the preview there's allot there at launch it does seem to have that Farcry checklist open world style if you're into that.
This statement is weird because didn't they say they were removing the always online requirement?
Gaming laptop with a 3070ti, so definitely doable but will have to see what optimization the game has (but also just a bit odd moving it from laptop usage to TV imo. For a few of the games on the horizon, having a dedicated console for couch gaming on the TV may be nice
By the looks of this game, it could easily run on vcr xbox one. Its all fine, but what happened to all this unlimited power in the world's most powerful console? Hi fi looks like a 360 game, redfall looks like an xbox one game. No series X only game looks even close to being next gen, it's just another example of the constant lies Microsoft regurgitates out their mouths.
season pass..you will always pay more nowadays, remember 10000 years ago when not only did you buy a complete game, you unlocked things in the game by completing challenges..
This is always the line before reviews come out, lets see if they maintain their views afterward.
Well does the bite back upgrade not count?

Seems like marketing talk.
Happy to be proven wrong but unless this game really gets a solid playerbase, I have a feeling it won’t last long.
They always say that. We should have this article screencapped for when they go back on this promise.
