The most important thing xbox can't do is offer great quality exclusive. Everything else is secondary.

Binarycode784d ago (Edited 784d ago )

I concur with my own concurdness.:)

russo121785d ago

They forgot one... be in last position every generation, including this one. This is a feat only achieved by xbox, I'm sure.

Aloymetal785d ago

A record no other would ever beat. Stuff of legends lol

FallenAngel1984785d ago

Xbox outsold GameCube
Xbox One outsold Wii U

Nice revisionist history

itBourne785d ago

Yehhh, ironically Nintendo has got their ass kicked quite often with consoles, dominate handhelds, Wii sold like crazy but no one bought games lmao, like no one, the attach rate was worse then the PSP, Switch has done well, does it count as a console though or a handheld?

headshotfrosty785d ago

Then stop B$%&@ing about the Bethesda deal.... Just a thought.

DogJosha785d ago

The big problem with them buying any dev is that they destroy every dev they buy. Bethesda doesn't need to become another Rare.

tbagmonster785d ago

dogjosha, rare has turned it around and their games are doing rather well with more to come

KillBill784d ago

@DogJosha - any idea that Rare is not achieving some great things under Microsoft is simply being ignorant of the truth. Sea of Thieves alone is greatness. And upcoming 'Everwild' and 'Perfect Dark' is keeping it busy.

Since being owned by Microsoft it has brought us the likes of Perfect Dark Zero, Viva Piñata series, Kameo: Elements of Power, Conker: Live & Reloaded, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Kinect Sports, Battletoads, Rare Replay. Developers would love to have that list of titles under their resume.

kayoss784d ago

So if you suck at what you do, in Xbox's case, making good quality games. Then you have the right to buy up all the studios that makes great games?

Nintentional785d ago

Yet you guys cry about Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 as well as Activision games being Xbox exclusives lol

TheEnigma313785d ago

MS has to buy big companies because they can't compete.

headshotfrosty785d ago

They’re a cult of hypocrisy. No winning.

Seraphim785d ago (Edited 785d ago )

@TheEnigma313 - that's a misnomer unless that was sarcasm. The reason they feel the need to buy HUGE, major 3rd party publishers is because they failed to invest into the software side of things. You know, the aspect that helps boost and give incentive to players to buy your console. MS has not given two shits about software, the one thing MS is known for; after all they are a software company. For over 2 decades MS has refused to build studios, create new IPs, build relationships, partnerships, & make acquisitions of smaller studios to help bolster their lineups.... Sure, some studios may have failed to deliver or garner sales so it's plausible some would shutter after some time, but it's not like MS didn't have the money to invest, to try building their brand on more than name alone.

side note: let's talk about one thing PS does that XB doesn't. Have a propriety storage upgrade that you have to pay out the ass for because it's proprietary.

KillBill784d ago

@TheEnigma313 ~ so then meaning Sony has to rent big companies because they can't afford to buy them. I thought PlayStation gamers were all about buying instead of renting. But when it comes to exclusives I guess their tune changes. lol

Bathyj784d ago

Yeah we want them to make something good, not just buy something that's already good

DivineHand125785d ago

They just released Hifi Rush last month. We are also aware of at least 3 major exclusive titles set to be released this year.

goldwyncq785d ago

^ Hi-Fi Rush's more fun and original than any exclusive Sony has released in the past three years

1Victor784d ago

@hand125: “They just released Hifi Rush last month. We are also aware of at least 3 major exclusive titles set to be released this year.”

I believe the games we are seeing now are games that had been in pre production or in development before their acquisition and therefore needed to be of a higher quality to compete on the multi consoles arena let’s give those studios 3-4 years from their acquisitions to see what they can really do without worrying about parity or other similar games in other consoles, I just hope they don’t become a RARE that years after acquisition was a gutted to a internet meme or worse lion heart that the moment you guys lost interest on fable it got to the chopping block.
I see the article writer choose some proffering in the article like not explaining how the “cloud gaming “ is better on xbs aside from some recent games.

TheEroica785d ago

Microsoft has been putting their games on PC for like three generations.... You know that's how they want it right? It's not a dig at them to say they don't have an exclusive. They feed their two platforms and people buy their games.

jeromeface785d ago

wake up, with gamepass no one is buying games, they are just renting them

Zeref785d ago

All PS fans can do is talk about Xbox 😂

Gamingsince1981784d ago

Well at least someone's talking about xbox, if it wasn't for the ps fans the xbox news would be a ghost town. Maybe thank them for helping keep xbox slightly relevant, instead of starting up crap.

@pan it doesn’t matter how much cake you eat if you don’t have a tongue to taste it.
In case it flew over your head let me put it like this, it doesn’t matter how may studios Microsoft purchase when they don’t have the ability to manage them correctly and get the most out of them 🤷🏿

senorfartcushion784d ago

Well no.

Regardless of how crappy the Xbox exclusives have been (I only have ever liked Quantum Break so far) the machine’s quality is more important. The Wii U had better exclusives than the other platforms at the time but was an annoying console to play.

KillBill784d ago

"Support Controller Backward Compatibility" I myself consider a primary offering.

"Xbox Game Pass" too I consider a primary offering.

PS5 can offer quality exclusives but it just seems Sony is too busy remastering old games to care that much about new titles maybe? But I am sure they will keep trying to buy quality exclusives... too bad that hasn't faired well for them so far.

Fells like these microsoft shill articles are getting more and more desperate.

TheEnigma313785d ago

They approve these just to be entertained by the comments.

Mr Pumblechook785d ago (Edited 785d ago )

https://twitter.com/aarongr...

Whilst Xbox never had a God of War/Horizon Forbidden West/Gran Turismo 7/ Ghostwire Tokyo calibre of exclusive in 2022, it did have High on Life which was free on Game Pass so was available to everyone and quickly became one of the most beloved games of the Xbox community. Aaron Greenberg tweeted delighted with its success.

In 2023 Xbox will be ready for take off with the launch of Starfield and Forza 8 among other games.

Charlieboy333785d ago

@Pumblechook Yeah yeah....every year has been 'Xbox's Year' since Phil arrived on the scene. Sorry but Redfall ain't it and Starfield is not enough to make it Xbox's year when Sony have games like Spider-Man 2, FF16 and Stellar Blade and FF7 Rebirth coming. Maybe next year huh? What's another year to wait

Mr Pumblechook785d ago

@Charlieboy333 The games you listed will all likely be great, but it doesn’t mean that for PS5 to succeed Xbox has to fail. This badly written article is not about hating on PlayStation, but enjoying Xbox - and when Hellblade II: God of War Ragnarok Killer is released a lot of people will just be happy to kick back and enjoy the game.

Terry_B784d ago

Have a look at the guy who submits many rather controversial, provoking..and dumb articles like this every week.

gold_drake785d ago

right? getting abit ridiculous

Einhander1971784d ago

Better than Ragnarok, very doubtful lol 😆 😂

zaanan784d ago

PS guy here- they actually raise some good points. Like where is my menu customization (folders etc)? Really miss being able to organize shit like on PS4.

FlavorLav01785d ago

Series console is definitely the better dust collector as there’s seldom a good reason to turn it on.

porkChop785d ago

Yes, because the only games that exist are exclusives.

The Wood785d ago

I think you're missing the point

TheEnigma313785d ago

Can't appreciate what you don't have right?

FlavorLav01784d ago

They are the most important aspect to what sets each ecosystem apart. Mario to Nintendo is pretty important I’d say, the same way Master Chief used to be important to Xbox. The reason to play one place or another. Iconic characters and games are what make a great console memorable. No need in downplaying their importance. Play games not services and the choice becomes painfully clear who has the better dev studios and finished products.

porkChop784d ago

I'm not downplaying the importance of exclusives. Obviously they matter and are one of the reasons you pick a platform. But saying a console is collecting dust without recent exclusives implies that exclusives are the *only* games worth playing. There's enough hyperbole on this site as it is, you don't need to add to it.

MIDGETonSTILTS17785d ago

Lol, nine?!?

I doubt that number alone soooo much.

MIDGETonSTILTS17785d ago (Edited 785d ago )

I read all 9, and they are hilarious.

The first and last are only possible because they didn’t bother to upgrade the controller significantly.

And obviously one of them hypes up Game Pass’ value.

blackblades785d ago (Edited 785d ago )

Yeah, sounds like laziness they kinda did the same with the UI. With a excuse of if its not broken why change it. Still its suppose to be a new generation of gaming you would think you want a new experience feel when you 1st play it. I'll also add, the title says what can series can do that ps5 can't. I mean ps+ premium/extra is basically a game pass just not the day 1 part. Everything else on the list is meh not even worth picking on it

LordoftheCritics785d ago

Forgot to add back compatibility.

Good list.

ChasterMies785d ago

PS5 has backwards compatibility. Not with PS3, but then neither does the Xbox Series X.

richardmmorales785d ago

Why would the Xbox Series X have compatibility with PS3?

Revenge of the Savage Planet (XS) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz's Brandon J. Wysocki: "Revenge of the Savage Planet falls short of brilliance simply because it doesn’t aim for it. This isn’t a title that’s going to revolutionize video games or present a story that changes your life. Instead, Raccoon Logic focused on delivering a comprehensively good time, and it succeeded in that! Whether you’re a Game Pass subscriber or buying it conventionally, it’s easy to recommend if you enjoyed the original or the action/adventure genre in general."
