I just played the scariest game ever on the PSVR 2

Rory: "If you have a solid tolerance for horror, Dark Pictures Switchback is a must-play VR game for horror fans. It’s a frighteningly fun experience from start to finish.

In fact, it's made me shout out in terror so often I’m pretty sure my upstairs neighbors are getting concerned."

Sounds brilliant, downloaded still need to play.

It's a great game, but the devs are looking into a fix for a graphical issue that's making it blurry for some:

Anyone who has played Until Dawn: Rush of Blood knows what to expect from Switchback! It's longer though, with more branching paths and a few puzzles dotted in there to give you a breather!

I heard it was not scary at all…

SullysCigar832d ago

Yeah, I guess it depends who you ask. I've seen people screaming while playing this and I've seen others keeping there cool, with the occasional, "okay, you got me me with that one!"

If you're hardened to VR horror, you'll have an easier time for sure - it really feels like Rush of Blood 2, so some jump scares land and others you'll be expecting, but it's a good time.

I'm not one who scares easily, some movies and games have been known to make me unsettled here or there. I played Switchback last night for a solid hour, there were definitely some scary moments. Different environments evoke different emotions from people, so depending on what you are scared of or how you get scared, there might be different reactions for everyone at different points of the game.

It's not gonna scare the pants off of you (unless you scare easily), but it's still a fun experience and I'm looking forward to playing more.

Waiting for PSVR 2 to be available at Best Buy.

I played it through, and compared to RE:Village, it's not scary at all.
I'm extremely dissapointed in Switchback actually. The jump scares are lame, the rats are boring and the game is just not good compared to Rush of Blood.

I think I preferred Rush of Blood, too, but I still like Switchback and it's better for replayability at least. I REALLY hope they update RoB for PSVR2 once they've patched Switchback - I fully expect a bundle in the furture!

Highly doubt its as scary as RE8 in PSVR2.

RE8 is so much scarier in VR its not even funny.

Of the four the meteora was the one that attracted me the most and the least was dream of another but if they put up demo for all of them I would try them out.

Dreams of Another sounds decent, but you know what we need? Another Dreams. Or at least a remaster of the previous one. It was one of my favorite "games" on PSVR1. I used to spend hours and hours getting lost in peoples' creations, and I occasionally dabbled in building.

Interesting that people are more interested in debating the future of PSVR2 and whether there will be a third and the games being made for the product.

Sony should go the hybrid route. So many games would be even better in VR and what would the cost be to porting to VR? RE8 is my favourite experience this gen and I don't think it's cost prohibitive.
