Make The Most Of Your PlayStation 3 Web Browser

When the PlayStation 3 updated to firmware 2.50 it added a lot of cool functions but the most useful one was the Adobe 9 flash player for the Internet browser. It was badly needed so that annoying ' Windows content can not be displayed, the page will be replaced with a blank page' would never show up again and you were no longer told to run a plug-in. And obviously so you can view sites that require Adobe 9 flash player. So here is the full list of all the websites to visit after firmware 2.50 was added to the PlayStation 3.

Whenever I use Hulu, it's slows down a lot and sometimes even crashes the browser or even the ps3 (one time).

It's good if u know what you're exactly looking for. But U need to know the EXACT place of that Content. So First I need to use my computer to know the fast way of getting there, and then I use my ps3.

It's better than before, but it can definitely improve. In speed or just stability. I am glad sony is doing something about the browser.

right now i use it for my new stereo system, just jump on to youtube and, wahla! you now have access to all the music you could ever want : ) great for partys too. love it.

I mean as far as console goes it has an okay web browser, its not a computer so i didnt really expect that much at all to begin with.

When I bought the Ps3 I bought it to mainly play games and watch movies, not browse the internet. Though it is nice to have an alternate way of accessing the web if my computer is down.

Its been working good for me on Hulu and every site i go to tbh. No freezing or anything, it use to lag on videos b4 but after the update its been smoth

It has javascript conflicts, and it sometimes freezes. Also, trying to watch videos on HULU causes it to lag, especially if you want to watch HD videos, which the picture then does not show up.

It's nice the system has a browser, though. I used to use it all the time before I built my computer. A shame you can't log in to N4G from it, though.

LOL. The PS3 browser sucks. Tried it once, and not going to use it again. Too slow, too cumbersome, too...sony. Hell, I've had the ps3 for a few weeks now, and I've taken it on psn once and that was it. Ghost town in games and an amateur layout. Sorry XBL, I'll never betray you again.

Uh, yeah I do. The PSN layout is terrible, especially the Store. Everything is thrown in together and randomly, demos arcade games, full games, etc. Download speeds are TERRIBLE, it takes hours to d/l a small demo, probably 10 times slower than XBL. Even signing in takes a long time.

The browser is slow, and limited to a few tabs. Everything is tiny on the screen, and you can't run every website.

Playing on PSN feels like you're playing with bots, as nobody talks, and outside of major games, there are no people online.

$4 a month for Live seems like a bargain at this point for a much better experience. PSN, being free, will go unused for me, unless Killzone 2 does indeed revolutionize the FPS genre.

I like streaming from BBC iPlayer when I miss a show I wanted to watch and I like streaming some other things such as HD trailers from Gametrailers etc. but I think the entire browser needs improved upon, it can be slow sometimes, not that intuitive to use and sometimes can cause my entire console to slow down.

Although that said for the most part it does what I use it for fairly well. I just think they could do so much more with it.

HULU is great (catching up on all the Heros I missed this season) and my wife got me the wireless keypad for Christmas, its nice to browse the web on my couch.

its not random. if you used it you would see buttons on the left to help you find what you are looking for. it sounds like you just never used it
