Wolverine is one of Marvel’s most iconic heroes, associated with some of the best stories written by the company either in his own solo comics or in his role as an X-Man. A grizzled badass in comics known for taking no gruff from anyone and yet capable of being the responsible person and doing the right thing. With Insomniac’s success in adapting Spider-Man to video games, there is understandably a lot of excitement around their upcoming adaptation of one of Comic’s favorite Canadian heroes.
However, one thing that bears mentioning is that a Wolverine solo game is going to have, necessarily, a much darker toner than Peter Parker’s adventures in New York. If you want a dark Wolverine game, then an M rating is going to be a necessary component of that, or at least the maturity and grittiness to warrant that rating.
The development of Marvel's Wolverine is reportedly progressing well despite its creative director's departure.
Part of the most interesting news in this article to me, is the revelation of a new trailer to be shown 2024. If its not the game awards, then maybe one more sop before end of the year? Id like to get a bit more idea of gameplay on this title...
That guy left months ago, but it was a conveniently timed reporting of him joining Microsoft.
I'm sure it's all just a coincidence that the CWA makes a ridiculous claim, it's announced that he joined Microsoft and the x supposedly passed the s (even though mathematically impossible), PlayStation losing a lawsuit that numerous other similar cases have all been ruled in favor of the hardware/software owners and that a deluge of other articles bashing Sony over trivial things have happened in the same week the release of the new CoD and Microsoft's investors report. Maybe Microsoft can launch another fake studio in some country exactly 24 hours to the minute before another PlayStation office gets raided in that same country.
Yeah I'm sure it's all just coincidences, and it's all honest reporting of course, definitely no bribes or payoffs happened, nope, definitely not...
Although Marvel's Wolverine has a new creative director, I'm confident that Insomniac's eagerly-anticipated superhero will be just fine.
I agree. Hopefully now they won't make Jean Grey a random, no body-shaped average-looking woman. Like I've heard they are trying to do, according to the leaks at least. She's very shapely in the comics, make her that way please.
Disney's D23 event was heavy on news about movies, shows and attractions, it was disappointing that nothing regarding games outside of Fortnite was shown.
The focus on just Fortnite was super disappointing to see, especially when Kevin Feige said he showed Galactus gameplay in Fortnite to the cast and crew of the Fantastic Four film as a reference to go off rather than...you know, the comics.
To succeed ? I don’t know but I think it will be M
Insomniac could make a Wolverine game rated E for Everyone if they wanted to and it would still be amazing. This'll be M though
Our beloved gaming media ''journos'' never disappoint....These people are literally running out of fresh ideas to stealth troll all 1st party Sony games. Now it needs some rating to ''succeed'' LMAO!
What? I can’t believe some of the mental capacity of game journalists these days…
It must have this in order to succeed!!!!!! I hate these articles. It's just a scared fanBOI snowflake afraid his/her/their personal vision of a character won't be the same as in game. Got news for ya, the game will be what it will be and it'll be the devs vision and not yours.
