I like how the Dualsense now updates over bluetooth.

SullysCigar838d ago

This was the reason my DualSenses went without updates for so long. i'd grab my pad, sit down, turn the PS5 on and get an update message. I'm not moving at this stage, so I'd just skip it! This is a nice quality of life update.

SullysCigar838d ago

As it turns out, so do the PSVR2 Sense controllers after this update!:

Also, people are reporting improved clarity in Horizon and GT7 and I've seen people report control improvements (stability) for Pavlov too. Great to see them fine tuning, especially since feedback has been so positive overall.

Aloymetal838d ago

Glad they're taking care of a few minor things and there's no doubt things will improve even more for PSVR2 after a while. This is just the beginning.

1nsomniac838d ago

I was considering buying Pavlov last night, what issues did they have with the controller?

SullysCigar838d ago

^ @1nsomniac, it's really only anecdotal on reddit and such, but some claimed they were getting a wobble while aiming down scope. They say this is now fixed. I imagine it was controller occlusion and perhaps it has been dealt by making that less sensitive.

The Quest 2 tracking wasn't so great at launch, but has come a long way since, as they've tuned it over time. The starting point for PSVR2 has been comparatively impressive, so it's great that they're not just sitting back and high-fiving, but are actually striving for perfection.

In Pavlov I've seen people shooting with the gun out in front of their face with a square body. I found much more success shooting and looking across my left shoulder, tilting my head to eye my shot like I would in real life and had no tracking issues. Now I've told you that you'll probably spank me on line!

I played GT7 after the update and had a feeling the flat screens were clearer but I could be imaging things!

SullysCigar837d ago (Edited 837d ago )

^ I thought the same @Knushwood. To the point that I've gone ahead and increased the size of the cinematic screen now!

Psvr2 is totally worth the price of admission. Watching videos do it no justice.

1nsomniac838d ago

If they want it to sell more they need to enable 3D video playback (…porn). I’m being serious. It may not be what the headset was designed for but in reality a VR headset isn’t going to sell very well if it can’t play porn like every other headset can. Just the reality of the situation and the world we live in unfortunately.

mandf838d ago

Interesting. So busy playing games I hadn't thought of that. I did. Try to slep the girls ass in the canoe on horizon

Outlawzz838d ago

Lol this guy would be great at the corporate meeting. Talk about brainstorming

ChasterMies838d ago

I don’t agree to enabling porn but I would like to see 360 video on PSVR2.

SullysCigar838d ago

Nice to see PSVR2 getting tweaked! Loving mine - I'm a total addict and haven't enjoyed gaming so much for a long time.

It's hardware and software is already great, so any improvements will be icing. Quest 2 is FAR better after updates than it was at launch, so this bodes well for continued wow-factor for PSVR2 as well.

darthv72838d ago

Hey sully, do you run the 120hz option and what did you set for your screen size and brightness? I was tweaking around with mine and I have it one notch below full on both. i havent tried the 120hz yet. I also need to re-calibrate my eye tracking as i was playing with the lens position and got it out of whack.

SullysCigar838d ago

Hey darth, I haven't changed the 120hz option yet, as I'm not sure it actually affects anything outside of cinematic mode (playing flat games on a massive screen), which i haven't even tried yet. Happy to learn otherwise though, if you have info.

I have my brightness at about 70%. I'm susceptible to glare when i drive at night, so I turned it down to 70% from the start. I did the same on OG PSVR and it's much more comfortable for me. The screen size I have set somewhere below 50% I think! I only notice clarity issues with images that are flat, like the GT7 menus, so I made the screen smaller to centralise and hit the sweet spot, so I didn't have to move my head to read everything. Once I'm back in VR in the car, everything looks great!

How's that wheel?

Vanfernal838d ago

The 120hz only affects cinematic mode. I'm pretty sure the refresh rate on VR mode depends on the game.

darthv72838d ago (Edited 838d ago )

Oh man the wheel makes a hell of a difference. I know its not a T300 but even a 150 is pretty fun to use. Im glad you mentioned it in another thread as i was originally looking at a T80 which has no force feedback what-so-ever. I like how this feels and I watched some vids about getting the most out of it by adjusting the torque and sensitivity in the game. I def need to get a proper stand now as well, as the pedals keep sliding forward from my lead foot. I may upgrade to the 3 pedal layout but for now the two are working fine. I tend to use automatic anyway instead of manual but if I do decide to upgrade the pedals, then a shifter is also in the cards.

this is all new to me so baby steps before i get one of those $5k full simulation rigs.

SullysCigar838d ago

^ haha, makes a big difference, doesn't it?! Yours is a good wheel, as you say, you want the force feedback and belt driven (in the absence of an expensive direct drive!), because they're less notchy than, say, G29 Logitech (still good wheel in many ways).

My rig and seat is just some generic thing, I think - I bought it secondhand to test the waters - but it's study and comfortable, with mounted wheel and pedals, and it looks great. you can find some good deals, as people often want the space back. Mine folds if you pull a few levers (like gym benches), so I could put it away easily, but I'm having WAY too much fun right now!

I play one below too. I recalibrate after every time I take the headset off and when I change games. I got it last night and wow at all of it. I was floored

Question to PSVR2 owners, has anyone tried the prescription lens add ons from third party dealers, and if so, which would be the best to consider purchasing?

Vanfernal838d ago

I haven't tried those, but I do wear glasses while using the headset and so far I haven't had any discomfort at all.

psplova837d ago

I ordered some off vr-rock. They seem to be pretty reputable and I've seen multiple "VR youtubers" offer discount codes for these, in particular. Should be at my doorstep within the next few weeks..

ocelot07838d ago

Even Linus tech tips praised this as the best VR headset available to consumers.

I had a small issue on Star Wars last night with my left controller being a bit jittery from time to time. Hopefully this update fixes that.

Didn’t even know that was Charlie cox voice

Crazy considering how much emotion he packed into his scenes. It’s strange to think it’s his first video game voice role.
