FuRyu and NIS America have just dropped some more footage for CRYMACHINA, an RPG centered around the trials and struggles of synthetic beings who've outlived humankind. This time it's the game's opening, and it's definitely making the situation seems intense.
The balance between the visual novel elements and the action RPG gameplay allows CRYMACHINA to be a thought-provoking experience.
WTMG's Fernando da Costa: "I couldn’t keep from being enthralled with the mystery and wanting to know what would happen next. What helps is the gameplay structure and how it’s perfect for a pick-up-and-play approach. I do wish it conveyed a few features more concisely, like a single piece of equipment able to be worn by all three girls. Regardless, this game is easy to suggest, and with a stellar performance on the hybrid, get it anywhere."
VGChartz's Thomas Froehlicher: "An outstanding achievement in terms narrative, sound, world, and character design, Crymachina is a fitting representative of "video games as art". Yet Furyu's recent creation also excels in gameplay thanks to a very fast-paced control scheme, and the right level of challenge that makes it deliciously addictive. It's still an AA game, so it does have its shortcomings and limitations, but I can now finally say I've found the new gem I've been craving since the original The Caligula Effect."
