Atomic Heart Review - Missing More Than a Beat - Twinfinite

The hope is that Mundfish is able to fix some of the more glaring issues post-launch, but right now, it feels less like a welcomed revolution and more like a nuclear disaster.

oh no, that's really low score... It seems all games I am interested in have gotten low scores to name a few:

- Forspoken
- Atomic Heart
- EvilWest

I know you guys will say, just play the game and judge but as I get older I have to be very selective when it comes to gaming...
ACG has the most unbiased review though: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

lonewolf10859d ago

It is getting higher scores too

get gamepass for a month for 1$ and try it out. Its available on it day one.

GoodGuy09859d ago

Wild Hearts was a big one for me. Launched unfinished and horribly unoptimized...

Lightning77859d ago (Edited 859d ago )

I guess you're gonna over look all the 8s even a few 9s it's getting? It's funny to see ppl cherry pick one bad score and say yep it's a bad game and run with it.

SurgicalMenace859d ago (Edited 859d ago )

I love ACG, and he's says it's worth it for full price even though it's on GP. I just purchased it moments ago. No regrets.

Sometimes I feel some reviewers score a game based on what it could be after it's fixed. I don't think it's right personally. So thats probably why we're seeing some lower scores. 6 and 7s still mean good game though imo

With that said I'll probably just wait a month or so and then check it out. Game still looks great to me and I'm a pretty patient guy

And the 2 points out of 5 were only awarded because of the 2 robot chicks

Demetrius859d ago

Really don’t trust reviews cause they’re basically someone’s else’s opinion hopefully it’s atleast dying light 1 good mfs expect a game to revolutionize a genre when in reality there’s so much they only can do I understand at the same time cause we get half assed or mutiplayer only bs

BlackDoomAx858d ago

It's not even opinions. Most of them are in touch with the publisher. They receive money/gifts, and are more clients than journalists.

Stanjara859d ago

Oh boy, can we please all go back to a silent protagonist? Like every review site in the last year has a problem with protagonist being annoying.

Idk how am I suppose to buy a game anymore.

Problems that I see are:
- free roam is kinda ruined with security cameras and alarms that are constantly bringing back more enemies.
- check points are far between, you loose a lot of progress when you die.
- crafting and ammo making is cumbersome, but I don't understand why by this review.
- You only have two active skills available... what?

And main protagonist is annoying??? What did they make of him Duke Nukem? Actually they've should have done that... but I don't understand why is he annoying.

I will investigate more...

BandarHub859d ago

I see, I see.
The problem is not the game its the reviewer.
He says The game's combat system could work better outside of a first-person perspective.
Not an FPS fan

Weapons can be augmented with elemental cartridges, and certain upgrades are only obtainable through challenging puzzle dungeons.
-Does like a challenge. Looks like everything needs to be handed in easily

There are niggling issues such as a lack of autosaves and checkpoints.
Seems the symptom of a modern gamer.

Symptoms of a modern gamer lol. Nice.

10 million players for Atomic Heart, nice!

Does this mean we might see an Atomic Heart 2? Crispy Critters!

NovoSlev30d ago

They're launching a new publishing label, Mundfish Powerhouse, but I wouldn't be shocked if they'll be using that to self-publish Atomic Heart 2 - hopefully!

Lightning7729d ago

It's on GP. 10 million players and a made another studio? So Did Gamepass help or contribute in making another studio for them? I know its on other platforms which also helped their new venture.

Boy_the_CowRoy29d ago

10 million? Hard to believe for a game with only 400 people playing this game currently and a all time peak of only 37k on PC. Is the difference in popularity of this game on console and PC really that big?

MrDead29d ago

Well done Mundfish, I had a fun time with this game... apart from the 2nd dlc. Great world building, a solid storyline and Bioshock style gameplay. Looking forward to what comes next.

DivineHand12527d ago

I started playing the game on Gamepass a while back. I stopped because it wasn't my cup of tea.

I am glad they were able to build a fan base for this game.
