When Ubisoft says Unannounced large game we used to get excited but at this point its like "aight"

S2Killinit107d ago

Well the three biggest publishers other than the three platform holders are Activision, Unisoft, EA.

So once Activision is no longer a multiplatform publisher, you better start liking what Ubisoft has to offer because there isnt really that much choice anymore.

neutralgamer1992107d ago

First of all don't be too sure about Activision acquisition going through. And I agree right now the those supporting acquisitions don't realize this will leave us with less options

Take two
EA
ubi

All try to out do each other not quality but in greed

Only other options are

Embracer group (which I think are bigger than anyone else)

And japanese publishers

JackBNimble106d ago

Really, what Activision/Blizzard games are you playing?
I don't think I own any nor care to.

S2Killinit106d ago

@neutralgamer
Agreed

@jackbnimble
None personally. I do play Blizzard strategy games on the PC though. And Elder Scrolls (I know its not activision).

neutralgamer1992106d ago

JackBNimble since you asked not sure me or the other user but here are games from Activision that I own

Crash trilogy
Spyro trilogy
Crash 4
Crash racing
Prototype
Marvel ultimate alliance 1-2
True crime
Transformers war and fall of Cybertron
All COD since MW for their single player stories

So maybe yes there are gamers who may not play many Activision games but that shouldn't mean that they should be acquired. IMO acquisitions should only happen when another company is in deep trouble like THQ and Midway were back in the day

ThichQuangDuck106d ago

Who the fuck is getting excited when Activision says "we have an large unannounced game" Some of y'all try to start console wars on every single post. When it doesn't need to happen. Activision was going to sell to a company regardless be it Tencent , Amazon or Microsoft. They offered to Sony too. They were dealing with controversy and poorly run that is what got them there.

S2Killinit106d ago

That was neither here not there. How is stating the truth “trying to start a console war”? What you mean to say is that die to your bias, you would rather some things aren't discussed. Well, sorry but Im personally not happy with the industry shrinking. Sorry if it bothers you.

ThichQuangDuck106d ago

No this simply has nothing to do with Activision or EA. Activision and EA have always been kind of known for these issues more than Ubisoft. Ubisoft between pumping out Far Cry and Assassins Creed became more known for these issues. Before they took Splinter Cell the action route Chaos Theory, Rainbow Six Vegas and many of their games were focused on staying in overall their lane letting their developers cook not hugely milking anything. Even early creed games like 1,2, brotherhood . Activision and EA big projects have been "aight' for a while. "You better start liking Ubisoft because there isn't a choice". There is indie, AA and AAA studios galore. I can't think of a Activision or EA title I have been excited to play in many many years versus Ubisoft lead to some of my favorite gaming experiences of all time. Neither of which could be said for Activision or EA . I get what you are going for about big publishers dwindling but simply being AAA doesn't mean you are creating experiences most people want to play. I could care less about Call of Duty and that is the main game at stake with Activision. I own a PS5 and PC so how can I really be bias because Activision games don't interest me . Again don't start console war bullshit under my post lol

I'm thinking it's Splinter Cell as a live service game.

-it's been a while and they need to get people excited;
- There's no opposition (maybe.... Depends if Metal Gear rumors are true);
- They need to monetize it as much as possible.

Just my guess. I'm likely wrong, but we'll see.

Ubisoft: "so pictures this is ghost recon with purple guns and we've blatantly ripped off the big 12 month old industry trend but we called it something else. And umm it's inclusive yeah super inclusive I mean we aren't but the game is"

OtterX106d ago

"Are you guys ready for this? This is going to blow your minds! Imagine, Assassin's Creed.... now with 50% more towers and collectibles! Are you not excited? Wait there's more! ... an always online connection ̶ ̶s̶o̶ ̶w̶e̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶ ̶w̶a̶t̶c̶h̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶c̶o̶n̶t̶r̶o̶l̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶r̶ ̶e̶v̶e̶r̶y̶ ̶m̶o̶v̶e̶ so that we can bring you unparalleled immersion into our breathtaking world!"

I like what they have to offer, but I really hope they bring back the original ACs

Better be a new Splinter Cell!

Wikkid666106d ago (Edited 106d ago )

My guess would be a new Ghost Recon

MrMilchick106d ago

I feel like if done properly, a new Splinter Cell would be great!

shinoff2183107d ago

Can't remember last time I even bought a ubisoft game. Assassins creed doesn't do it for me and that's about what they specialize in anymore.

S2Killinit107d ago

The last Assassins Creed that I played and enjoyed thoroughly was Black Flag.

CrimsonWing69107d ago

Is it going to be like Far Cry, Ass Creed, Watch Dogs, Division, Rainbow Six… or all of the above?

I’ve completely lost faith in this company. Where’s Beyond Good and Evil 2? Last I heard they didn’t know what to do with it despite having the first game to go by…
