I honestly cannot wait to play this titan on the PSP.Agito XIII looks like the exact type of flagship game the PSP needs in 2009.The online multi-player sounds great but the meat of the project will be another great RPG from Nomura.

RememberThe3575741d ago

I'm hoping my PSP gets a lot of use in 2009.

The closer we get the more excited I am getting for all three FF XIIIs.

Well, even though Google's translation isn't that far off, it's still not 100%, so I hope the text below helps those who are interested.

"Final Fantasy Agito XIII" is part of the project "Fabula Nova Crystallis", which contains a series of themes and plots to place not only this game, but also "Final Fantasy Versus XIII" and the main game "Final Fantasy XIII" as if they were all part of the same universe. The game also comes in response to Square-Enix's recent guideline of developing products focused on universal themes, in order to better penetrate the western market.

The script has been safely kept secret, but it revolves around a large conflict between the four major nations of planet Orience. The war nation Milites breaks the truce and conquers all other three until it finds a small kingdom, isolated in a remote island, protected by a magic crystal which prevents the entry of intruders. But when said crystal explodes and its defenses fall, 12 students from the local magic academy are chosen to expel the invaders - by using katanas (swords), bows, shotguns, spears and even magic flutes and tarot cards.

The game's mechanics are very alike "Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core", consisted of an action game with a few touches of RPG, since the game reuses its graphic engine and other features, such as the ATB combat system and control of various characters. There's support for online multiplayer, including cooperative, allowing players to change avatars during gameplay, according to the creature they wish to evoke.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and XV Extended Talk Show live stream

"Square Enix’s “Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Extended Talk Show” will begin shortly.

The live stream, as its name suggests, is an extended version of the “Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Talk Show” from the Tokyo Game Show. And unlike its name suggests, it will cover not only Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, but Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy Agito, as well."-Gematsu

New details:
- Holding defend to evade drains MP, doesn't last forever.
- The attack button is used for basic combos, weapons used are context driven based on equipped weapons and context settings the player selects.
- The skill button is used to do special attacks for the main weapon equipped.
- There will be advanced evasion and attack techniques depending on equipment and control input.
- You can use the sword barrier defensively in battle, you can do short warps in the battlefield, you can parry attacks.
- There will be lots of tactical aspects in battle for core games, like elemental weaknesses and so on.
- Noctis is the only playable character, but his unique combat style and how the party interacts with him in battles is what drives the entire battle system.

Will We Ever See Final Fantasy Agito In The West?

Final Fantasy Union: "This is a question that has been asked by Western gamers for quite a few years now, but we still sit no closer to having an answer than we did when Final Fantasy Agito XIII was first announced during E3 2006. Yes, you heard me, it has been that long since the fated announcement of the Fabula Nova Crystallis franchise.

A lot has happened since then. We have, of course, now seen the release of Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII (under the guise of Final Fantasy Type-0). We have also seen the release of Final Fantasy XIII sequels, in the form of Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, as well as the recent release of Final Fantasy Agito as it was originally intended."

What is Your Favorite Final Fantasy Game of all Time?

In recent years, the Final Fantasy series on PlayStation systems has been somewhat quiet in terms of new releases, but 2013 changes all that by bringing us the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. - PSLS

FF8 for me. The Lionheart was just too BEASTLY. =]

hkgamer4148d ago

I loved FF8 the most as well. Had to play through the game about 5 times to understand how the combat system works.
1st playthrough, I didn't understand the draw system so just used GF and boost through the whole game.
Probably my 10th(or maybe 20th) playthrough I understood the whole card system. Basically complete the game without leveling a single character.
My last playthrough I did was to only level up seifer and Edea, which made leveling through card obsolete.
My characters were way OP and could easily beat any lvl 100 characters on the island closest to heaven and hell.

Anyway, loved the variety of different play styles you could do to finish game.

I also loved FFXII because of the combat system, and also learnt the glitches to trick system to getting 100% chance to getting item from treasure chests. Must have spent 200+ hours on 1 single playthrough and still have yet to complete the game.

FF6
FF7
FF9
FF10 (first one i played)

All those are the 4 best, FF8- I didnt like the battle system

jsslifelike4148d ago (Edited 4148d ago )

FFIX would jump straight to the top of the list for me. Not only did it show what the PS1 was capable of nearing the end of the generation, but it also brought with it two of the greatest FF characters- Vivi and Steiner. STEINER WAS A BEAST. Plus, equipment-based character class growth instead of that crappy DRAW command in VIII.

So, what are some of anyone's favorite FF CHARACTERS of all time? Here are my top 3:

3. Adelbert Steiner
2. Seifer Almasy
1. Auron

Larry L4148d ago (Edited 4148d ago )

6
1 (remake)
9
7
10

I like these all pretty equally, even with 1's lack of story....it's just great, and kinda made better by 9, and 9 is made better by 1. It's an interesting circle those two games create.

What is Your Favorite Final Fantasy Game of all Time?"

I believe Final Fantasy XIII was the best FF ever. It had the best story, the best characters and boss battle used every member in your party just to kill it.

FF7 only gets a lot of props because it was the first FF to go 3D. If they made other FF's in 3D they would kill FF7.

McScroggz4147d ago

:D

Tell me another joke!

Aceman184147d ago (Edited 4147d ago )

Final Fantasy 6 which was FF3 on the SNES. Followed by FF9 and FF4 on SNES.

these 3 games are my favorite FF games of all time.

i have replayed these games more than any other FF games in the series.

Crazy Larry4147d ago

You're an educated gamer. I hate hearing opinions on this question from gamers who haven't even played the entire series. I COMPLETELY agree; 6, 9, 4 are my top three also. You can't have a proper opinion if you haven't played the entire series.

Aceman184147d ago

@crazy

yea these 3 games in this franchise just has a special place in my heart. for me they have heart and soul.

i think those that disagree with us probably started playing the franchise with FF7.

Mottsy4147d ago

@ Crazy you don't like hearing opinions from gamers on a game commenting website. Fair enough.

I have not played the entire serious but I did enjoy FF4, X, 6,7

Never been a fan of the series but I do wonder how the sales figures went throughout the series.

ltachiUchiha4148d ago (Edited 4148d ago )

They actually use to do very well. The oldd ff games blow the new ones out of the water quality wise & sales wise.

FF 7= 9.8 million. FF 8= 8.15 million (somehow I didn't really like this one that much) FF 9= 5.3 million. FF 10= 6.32 million. FF 10-2= 4 million

They actually sold well despite being on one console at the time & those sales numbers were from 2010 so they could have sold more.

nypifisel4148d ago

Actually FFXIII was like the fastest selling FF ever released!

OnT:
My fav is III and VI.

Larry L4148d ago

If you don't like 8 much, look up a site called "squall's dead" or something like that. It's like this crazy conspiracy theory about the game, that I actually think is right. And while it didn't make me "LIKE" the game any more than I did, it kinda gives you (me) a whole new appreciation for 8 and makes you look at it a different way.

It's a very interesting and fairly quick read and I suggest checking it out to any FF fan that may have been on the fance about what they think about 8. And it may even be a more interesting read for fans who loved 8.

"Squall's Dead" Google it

http://vgsales.wikia.com/wi...

FFX is listed in some websites to have sold 8.05 million copies, while others state that it sold around 6.5 million copies.

MonkeyNinja4148d ago

FFIX is still my all-time favorite, but X is a close second.

SuperLupe4148d ago

FFIX is one of the fondest memories of my teenage years. It marked me for life.

Sometimes I tell myself even when I'll be 80 years old sitting on the front porch of my house, I'll still think about the incredible adventure I lived with Vivi, Zidane, Garnet and the whole crew.

Truly magical moments.

3-4-54147d ago

I love games like that.

Larry L4148d ago

LOVED 9 as well, and it made me love 1 even more than I originally did.
