PS5 vs Xbox Series X|S Sales Comparison – December 2022

December 2022 is the 26th month the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S has been available for. In the latest month, the gap grew in favor of the PlayStation 5 when compared to the aligned launch of the Xbox Series X|S by 1.22 million units.

In the last 12 months, the PlayStation 5 has outsold the Xbox Series X|S by 4.19 million units. The PlayStation 5 is currently ahead by 10.11 million units.

Gap increase in a single month by 1.22 million is pretty strong for the PS5. Although what the real worldwide numbers are, we can only speculate.

Can confirm they flying off the shelves in European territories. They moving so fast stores in my area have empty shelves but get restocked a day or two later. Also starting to see a way bigger used marketplace for games for sale and trade which is great.

People here like the propagate the myth IndiePass has helped MS close the gap and compete with Sony. Simply not true. If you compare flagship models, PS5 is outselling Series X 3:1. Any reputable link has Xbox consoles at nearly a 50/50 split between the X and G in sales. Series G has disguised the dominance a bit but I predict 40-50mil disparity again this gen. Serious question: How many copies does Starfield sell w/o Xbox and PS owners? I betcha we'll get gobsmacked with 50 articles from Uncle Phil saying GP subs are up 168%

I’m sure they are. They almost always have Xbox higher than real numbers and PS lower .
