GB: "Two stellar survival horror remakes- but which one comes out on top?"
Former Visceral Games devs reveal Dead Space's marketing budget was cut in favor of Mirror's Edge because of mock review scores.
I wish EA would just release a DS2 remake. DS is my favorite horror game and DS2 is the best one in the franchise. But because DS1 failed to meet certain numbers EA scrapped the DS2 remake. SH2 remake was great rumors are Konami might be asking for another SH remake. The RE2 remake was great EA just needs to give it another try. But all they seem to do is shitty sports games that are no different from the year before. Change a few players, add different uniform colours, maybe change a team logo. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I bought Dead Space during launch window and I never bought a Mirror's Edge game .
PS Plus Extra and Premium are set to lose 11 games in January, 2025, including Capcom's Resident Evil 2 remake.
All playable from October 1.
I’m going Resident Evil 2. Both are great, but RE2 Remake has such great replayability over Dead Space and I feel the survival horror elements are implemented better like options to board windows, for example.
For me Resident Evil 2, because Resident Evil 2 is one of my favorite games of all time and Dead Space isn't.
I think Resident Evil 2 is better. But Dead Space is also very very good!!
I’d say they’re both 10’s in the genre. Both do what they set out to do damn near perfectly. I’d call it a tie. RE2R does inventory management better, and the police station is top notch level design. But DSR I think has it beat in the sound design and atmosphere. I find DSR way more tense to actually play.
Just my opinion though. Like I said, both are amazing and I like both about the same.
I like the RE2 Remake more, but I did find Dead Space to be more tense and scary at times. I also like walking trough the ship over RPD. Two of my favorite horror games though.
