I certainly don’t celebrate the economy we’re in or people losing their jobs etc - but if the metaverse dies with this economy, all clouds have a silver lining indeed.
It’s inevitable, no point in fighting it, same with NFT’s once someone implements them in a non-predatory manner. Bad actors are the ones who have done them thus far
Killed the vision cam, Kinect, Kinect 2, Xbox One X high fidelity VR, Windows PC VR headsets, Alt Space and failing with Hololens. Yet, they are supposedly, a leader in the field of Mixed Reality.
Nothing new. Just more failing. While their competitor is releasing high fidelity VR next month.
We, at home miss Kinect so much that we continue using it with a third party non oficial adapter for Xbox One X. It has been queen of the party for more than 15 years and it will be a tragedy when all our Kinect systems die. The good point of VR on PC (and Meta) is that we use them without suscriptions and games will work "forever", with a really atractive second hand market for PC VR headsets.
