Gran Turismo 7 Will Have (Almost) Full PlayStation VR2 Support

Once the free PSVR2 update goes live in Gran Turismo 7, you’ll be able to play everything except a local, two-player head-to-head entirely in VR — covering not only offline races against the AI but Sport Mode, Daily Races, and the GT World Series.

It’s probably the implementation of PSVR2 that Gran Turismo fans were really hoping for but didn’t dare to dream.

Amazing stuff. This means gt will be a huge deal to get psvr2. Playing in vr is huge step forward for racing. Much more then Ray tracing and stuff like that with the limitation of this consoles. You will get Total immersion on racing

How far we've come since PSVR.

If you click through, you'll see the comment section on this story ~400 comments in less than an hour. They're pumped for this news. Before they were saying "I need to know whether it's the full game or not", now they're saying either "Pre-order confirmed!" or they'll get it when they can afford it.

The bad news is, the second hand price and availability of steering wheels is about to SHOOT UP!

This is what is needed for PSVR2 if it's going to flourish - full support for all first-person games. People are familiar with VR experiences and they're alright when you're just being introduced but after that they become tiresome and it's part of the reason why PSVR1 stalled. Sony really needs to push partners to do this with all their games.

Yeah. I knew. This was for those that said GT 7 wouldn't be fully playable. They'll say crap like you can't play 2 player mode on the console locally as some technical knock on the game when we know VR is a single player on the console experience that you can play online or off.

No worries though. I'm just happy the naysayers are proven wrong again.

Part of my whole VR playing will be from staring at the backgrounds and objects. Will end up crashing because of it or in other games getting killed. But it'll be still amazing with the new level of detail we're going to see.

Yea probably some lawsuits. Imagine flipping your car in game but you forgot to buckle yourself to the couch, and the haptic suit thrusts you to the ceiling and you feel like you were in an accident. I kid, but considering the cost of a haptic suit it would be cheaper (to start) for the customer to actually pursue the hobby of track driving in real life. Interesting concept though

More like halfdick suit. You won't look like a complete tool wearing the suit, but a big honkin VR headset will take you the whole way.

I think RE4 is confirmed VR. At least the videos Ive watched on oncoming PSVR2 games list that as a upcoming game.

I wonder what the preferred controller will be, wheel, dualsense or the vr wands? I have a ps4 logitech wheel but seem to do drive worse with it. It's also a pain trying to find the e-brake button when turning the wheel.

For me whichever uses the DualSense features. It helps me feel individual tires beginning to slide before I see it on screen. I haven’t used a wheel since the ps2 but is there any wheels that provide similar feedback?

On wheels with force feedback the resistance can be decreased as traction slips if the game codes for it. I love DualSense, but for driving immersion a wheel wins in my book. I've got an old Thrustmaster that has served me well for years

My Fanatec ClubSport pedals and CSL Elite wheel let you feel wheel slippage and brake lockup.

Yes! Love it, had held off buying gt7 as was hoping it would be vr, and then once it was announced had to wait to see if it was the full hog or a slimmed down feature set. Can't wait to get stuck in (after horizon of course!)
