What Is the Hitbox Controller?

A fightstick controller without the fightstick? But wait, it actually works.

You see the Hitbox is this simply put. It makes people who can't do BF, DF, charge moves, dash, and can't jump in fighters. Easier for them to play. There's already a Shoryuken that can only be done on Hitbox which is faster than doing one on an Arcade stick. Some in the FGC view it as cheating. As it allows the hardest inputs to be done like they're nothing.

Isn't it banned in a lot of competitive events now? Whatever advantage it gives though, i couldn't imagine the amount of practice required to get proficient with it.

I know they banned it at a couple of Smash events. Not sure if it's banned at EVO.

It's not banned anywhere really at events nowadays and many pros are switching to it due to the advantages (less input errors as you directly input the directional buttons instead of using a stick that emulates it, faster direction changes etc).

What they have banned via socd cleaning is the function to use two opposite directional buttons (for example back and forward) at the same time, as that's not possible with other controllers and would be an unfair advantage.

Also there's an even more complicated hitbox called CrossUp which has all the directional buttons plus a stick, which they have now banned from most major tournaments due to the advantages that entails.

I remember that some people tried to get it banned at events because it was more accurate than regular controllers. Kinda interesting looking more at it.
