These PSVR Games Need a PSVR 2 Upgrade

While the PSVR suffered from its reliance on aging technology, there were still a number of incredible titles. As the PSVR 2 release date is on the horizon, I explore which games should get a new lease of life on Sony’s latest piece of kit.

Werewolves Within was ridiculously good fun! Eye tracking (showing where your avatar's eye were looking) would make a brilliant addition to this game, as it's all about bluffing and reading people.

FARPOINT. I say this because I gotta it on the PSN store coz it looked really good but I only ever got to play the opening scene of the game itself. I'd really like to play this one out. Was it any good for those who played it?

it was not bad. But the game made some concessions because of the forward facing nature of the PSVR so the enemies were sort of dumb and would always stay in front of you. That being said, we got the Aim Controller out of that game and that thing was awesome.

Granted they'd have to redo the controls and the Aim Controller is useless for the PSVR2 in its current form.

I played nearly every PSVR game here's my top 5 "No Order.
1.Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin
2.Blood & Truth
3.Farpoint(with VR Gun)
4.RE7
5.astro bots
Honorable Mention: Hitman 3 on VR only allowed you to use the DS4. Took away the immersion

I felt the same way with RE7 to be honest. Restricting VR to just your head movements but forcing a controller to be used with no motion controls takes away from the experience in my books. RE8 will be 1000% better as a result.

I'd love to see Skyrim, doom 3 and doom vfr get an upgrade but politics.

Lots of tracking problems really prevented me from fully enjoying most of these items on the list like saints and sinners was painful with the move controllers.

I'd often play with duel shock or aim controller and I'd refuse to buy shooters or anything with the need to navigate a 3d area with the move controllers.

I would love to see Astro Bot. But the big conversion challenge is that the dual shock 4 was very key. They could maybe modify it into the new VR controllers. In any case, the sequel is going to kick ass.

What did DS4 have that DualSense doesn't?

Edit: Nevermind, understand now that you would like to play with the Sense controllers, but if played with DualSense, it would easily be doable.

Oh. The dual shock 4 could be tracked by the camera and was in the virtual world with you as an object. No word on if the dual sense could be used like that. I was thinking that the new VR (wand like) controllers could be substituted.

Would be nice, even if you still had to use the controller. Can't see them doing full tracking on the motion controls, that's a lot of extra work.

I own blood and truth and saints and sinners but haven't played either. I hope they both get an update.

I got S&S with PS Plus but it seemed ba*** hard. Neither stealth, nor combat seemed to work, and it has this annoying stamina mechanic whereby you suddenly cease to function unless you eat something.

Got stuck at this point where I think you needed to climb to get into a house. Died multiple times and wasn't enjoying it and never played it again.

Also has weird art direction that I don't think suits what is a survival horror game.

the stamina isn't permanent, it's supposed to mimic life, where you can only run for so long and you are basically catching your breath before you can run again.

The art has a somewhat comic/cel-shaded look to it but I found it to be quite pleasing visually. Plus the narratives with all the different characters you meet made for a quite enjoyable story.

Right, only the stamina thing causes you to fall off buildings when climbing them.

Maybe I just wasn't playing it 'right', but had no desire to stick with it.

I played through Saints and Sinners on my Index. Absolutely loved that game, it was a hidden gem. Chapter 2 will be so much better with the PS VR2.

Saints and Sinners has a PSVR2 version. Not sure if it's a free upgrade though.

I'd be very surprised if there's not a lot of upgrades announced. Some of these will be much easier ports than others. Presumably porting a game that has an Oculus Quest version already is a lot more straightforward.

These are games I like to come back to. There are more of course and also games I didnt played yet and waited for PSVR2. For me, incompatibility is huge drawback. So big, Im considering whether to buy PSVR2 or not. Maybe few years later.

I know the new walking dead is releasing on psvr2. But would love is the first one they gave away with ps+ would get a upgrade as I never got to finish it.

Same with astro bot. I didn't get to play the Vacation Simulator game as really enjoyed the Job Simulator game.
