Interesting how flexible and streamlined it is. I remember hearing about how they have a new way to transfer performance capture data to a face model in a way that essentially translates entire expressions to another faces surface, didnt know it was this easy to do, that's awesome. Usually facial expressions are the one thing that are always broken in character model mods

Very impressive... It's amazing how a new face brings a whole different feeling to how you see Ellie.. At least for me, here for some reason I see her as a little kid, where as before I still see her as a little kid but more able to handle holding a gun, where now with the new face from the HBO series I feel like giving her a gun, that would be crazy... I think the problem is these characters are established for many and rooted deeply that any kind of change just doesn't sit right.

I'm not saying the actress and actors are bad, but they are not these characters and that will be distracting to me and take me out of the experience. I heard Pedro say, "There's some rules you have to follow," and it's just not Joel to me, like at all. The actress playing Elle is even worse and neither look like the character, which also compounds issues I have. The Mod doesn't even look like the actress, it's like a blend between her and the game character. When you see them side by side it's jarring.

I'm still going to watch it because I want to see if the show can pull this off, but it's got some elements going against it, in my eyes.

Isn't the world getting burnt out yet on these types of shows especially after the the walking dead series?

I mean I loved the walking dead for the first few seasons but after season 7 I just couldn't take it anymore and the ratings started to tank.

It'll be interesting to see how long this series can hold people's attention. I'm sure it'll do fine in the beginning but how long can this one actually last?

Apparently the actors were told to not play the original TloU wich is weird since it is supposed to be the source material for this show. I don't know how the show will end up but this leads me to believe that they're not making this show for the fans.

They got rid of Spores and changed it completely to something else. This totally changes the concept on Ellie’s immunity and the gas masks needed in some areas. Are Bloaters now still a thing? Spores were unique and separated against the typical Zombie shows like the Walking Dead

They made it so Ellie and Joel meet a different way

They’ve apparently made Tess survive longer

They’ve apparently toned down the violence

They told the cast NOT to play the games

Some clothing and cars in the show look brand new. They couldn’t rust / dirty them up a bit

I could go on and this is with Neil Druckman there…he doesn’t give a shit, long as he gets into Hollywood.

This type of show needs the community that backed it before it hit tv. They need us for word of mouth. The thing is, the feelings are mixed, and it isn’t tipping towards the positive side. So those who suggest it will have people watch it, but there’s more hate that surrounds it, so more people will tell others how terrible it is compared to its video game counterpart. HBO is ok, but don’t act like it’s last big hits haven’t bombed. Westworld, Raised By Wolves,and Titans have all failed. This won’t get a second season, I assure you.

Well, I'm also told that it takes pretty intense creative liberties from the source material so, as far as I'm seeing, I won't enjoy it as a big fan of the original game.

it's the hairstyle that they went with in the show that throws it off. ellie's always had bangs, and given game characters are so specific in the way they look, i'm surprised they deviated from such a simple thing.
