5 Things We Miss About the Wii U

The Wii U was certainly an interesting offering from Nintendo. While it wasn't the success Nintendo hoped for, there's still a lot to enjoy.

Many of which can be rectified easily. Like a port of the Zelda games. And Switch is a touch screen system. Switch is also an evolution of WiiU. A console you can play on TV or on the small screen.

Also, Virtual Boy was Nintendo's biggest failure compared to WiiU. It barely sold at all before being discontinued. And an embarrassing moment for Gunpei Yokoi. I still think his other creations and game producing made up for it.

Still use my Wii U. It was the most innovative and interesting console, and my favourite. Just yesterday I was on Mario Kart 8 online and there were immediately 8 people were waiting. Nintendo Wii U is one Nintendo's best consoles, but was technically hobbled and badly marketed, and Nintendo has themselves to blame for that. Just a few not-so-costly changes would of made it a success and would of pushed gaming forward. What a missed opportunity. Nintendo then went with the cheaply manufactured Switch, and is now the loving the amount of profit it makes. Now that Nintendo has had a taste of this, the innovative and risk taking days of Nintendo are over.

The Switch itself was a big gamble, and the Wii U was not expensive to manufacture. If you recall, a lot of ppl thought the NX would fail since the hybrid console couldnt succeed as a handheld and console at the same time.

The only thing I really miss from Wii U was Miiverse.

Only thing I thought was cool and I guess I could say missed was one player playing on the main controller with that screen against other players that are using the TV screen. It was pretty cool. Most of its “missed” feeling was cured with PSVR. Playing games like everyone explodes where one person is in the VR seeing the bomb and the other player, players if you will, are trying to help player one get the instructions to defuse the bomb. It’s like having two tvs in the same room. It’s awesome.

F-Zero: GP Legend, a Twenty Year Reunion

WTMG's Leo Faria: "Sadly, F-Zero: GP Legend did not become the commercial hit Nintendo was expecting, at least in the West. The game came and went, just like its anime counterpart. It was the last hoorah for the franchise in the States, if you don’t count F-Zero 99, that is. It wasn’t a bad game per se, but it felt like a setback after the excellent Maximum Velocity or F-Zero GX. As a result, it probably did not sell that well, Nintendo saw it as a sign that Westerners weren’t into F-Zero, and we’ve been living in this hellish drought of antigrav races featuring bird-named racers ever since. Twenty years later, it clearly doesn’t hold up very well, with a lot of people barely remembering its existence, unlike F-Zero GX."
