Supermassive Games' upcoming horror title called 'The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR" will make use of the PSVR2's eye-tracking system in a horrifying way.
Yup, I called this one a while back... it knows where you are looking, so it knows where to make things appear out of the corner of your eye where you can barely see them. "Was that a person I just saw in the corner of me eye?"
This game is sure to be a best seller. From the makers of until dawn rush of blood. They have the skills and experience to make this a must have vr title.
Even those who dislike Kojima have to admit he always makes the most out of the hardware he is given to work with MGS1's Dualshock and memory cards, even the game case. MGS2/3 the pressure sensitive buttons, using the Sixaxis to make Rose's chest wobble in codec conversations (groundbreaking and pivotal to the plot), P.T. taking advantage of the DS4's headphone jack to solve the final puzzle etc.
I really want to see him make a PSVR2 title and see what he can do with eye tracking and whatnot.
I have to admit that I was a VR hater until i recently tried Oculus. RE4 is an entirely different experience and it feels like you’re actually in the game. I still think VR is a gimmick and to be taken in small doses but I will admit VR is much better than I thought it was. I’m looking forward to PSVR2 I just won’t be standing while I’m playing I’d rather sit.
To be honest they almost all feel like you are in the game, even when you are the third person like Moss.
I never stand while playing VR games, just sit in my regular gaming chair. Don't have the space to stand, and almost all games support sitting. Super Hot VR is the only one I have that I gave up on as later levels required me to move forward in real space.
Note to self: Buy eye drops before 22 Feb!
damn that's going to be crazy in VR for horror games, ultra fast framerate , oled and in 4k, yikes!!
That's a novel and scary use for eye tracking.
Sounds cool
