Persona 3 Portable & Persona 4 Golden for modern platforms details new features

ATLUS has detailed the new features that will be available in the upcoming console and PC ports of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden, which include high-resolution graphics, the ability to choose your difficulty level from the start, quick save, and an “Album” feature for Persona 4 Golden.

The company also announced that each game will cost 1,980 yen in Japan, which is likely equivalent to USD $19.99.

I have Persona 4 already on PC, but I haven't played Persona 3 in years. When I first started learning about emulation lol.
I'll probably grab that one for console.

Persona 4 Golden released to Steam Jun 13th, 2020. Is this version different from it?

Vits904d ago (Edited 904d ago )

I believe not all the improvements are in the Steam version. At least I don't recall the quick-save and the Album being present. But I play it on launch, so might be remembering wrong.

They are also mentioning higher-resolution graphics, but that doesn't specify if it includes higher res textures as well. Because the Steam release has support for higher resolutions, but the textures are the same as the ones present on the Vita.

I think they're talking about the console version, Persona 4 Golden wasn't available before outside of Steam.

gold_drake904d ago

it was on the vita. what u on about lol.

RedDevils903d ago

Is the reason 90% of people that bough Vita lol

FinalFantasyFanatic903d ago (Edited 903d ago )

*Whoosh!* Over you heads, it was on the Vita, but on modern consoles, you could only get it on Steam (think a bit more before you reply guys). now that version is coming to other Consoles, which also makes my answer more in line with BrainSyphoned's question.

This version is different. However they are updating the PC port when these release to have the same features and improvements. Such as a complete format change for all the major files.

So yes it’s different but the PC will also be getting this as a free update

Very nice, I played the original P4 couple of months ago, and now I'm playing P5R for the first time. Awesome games. Gotta try P3 when it releases.

Honestly I didn't expect pricing at 20$, that's very surprising

4 is my favorite Persona so I’m hyped for a remake. I’ve played Golden a few times and the original a couple times so I’m ready for the remake

P4 Golden literally justified the VITA at the time (incredibly slick on that OLED display as well... huge memories for me). P4 on PS2 was awesome (I played it on my BC ps3 at the time) but Golden elevated it, again- that screen and the intimate feel of playing it on a handheld made it feel way less dated.... I love that game. That and Ys memories of Celceta, Killzone and some of the other incredible games made the VITA intensely memorable even if mostly due to the name (same fate as the Wii U) nobody knew what it was initially and it went by the wayside (idiots blame the cards but literally nobody but a few loud people on forums cared about the cards, mostly because they were hoping to pirate, one small cheap card held tons of games- it was never a problem)

Damn straight it did, I bought it on a whim when I was in a Gamestop one day and saw it on sale. I played the shit outta that game. Another one was Zero escape: Virtues Last Reward. If it was just for those 2 games, the console was worth it.

im actually doing just that tomorrow ha.
