And also it felt like he was taking his time so more people could win Steamdecks

Like how MILF Hunter won XD

darthv72513d ago

that's what i noticed as well. Im like... keep talking dude, my chance to win is increasing.

I didn't win (sad panda)

gold_drake512d ago

i dont think anyone disrespects him for it haha.

its a meme worthy moment, thats it rly.

and apparently ppl won steamdecks during it haha

blackblades512d ago

Geoff and couple of others took shots about it while on stage. Honestly I left the room did a bunch of stuff and came back and was like daaaam he still talking.

gold_drake512d ago

yeh i know, i saw it haha
cause no one expected it to be that long.

but mentioning it, is not disrespecting someone for it.

Gameseeker_Frampt512d ago (Edited 512d ago )

The Game Awards disrespected him while he was giving it as well as after. That is what the article is about.

gold_drake512d ago

y'all are so sensitive. i watched it and there was no disrespect in them making comments about it.

Zeke68512d ago

The did disrespect him imho. They even started to play music in the background as he was talking to make him take the hint. He won - His time in the light. Let him talk in peace. Was a great speech all things considered.

Odiumsatanas509d ago

I've been a fan of his since '02 haha, as Teal'c in SG1 haha, so honestly i was so happy for him to finally get another perfect role and the recognition he deserves. The man's a legend. Compared to the endless ads and weak trailers, a 6 minute speech is incredibly tame, it's not that long at all haha, ripping on him for it was bizarre

GoodGuy09512d ago

I was thinking at first we should've moved on but then it got pretty cool, really gave out his heart on that stage and the music that came in was nice of the staff.

porkChop512d ago (Edited 512d ago )

The music is actually to notify the person to wrap up their speech. They weren't doing it to be nice lol. They were trying to get him off the stage.

ClayRules2012512d ago

Lol, true. I’m glad he just kept talking, it actually added to the bit left of what he said, I think haha.

Double_O_Revan512d ago

It's funny because with as long as it took them to put the music on, I'm betting they didn't even have it set up, not thinking something like this would happen. With the Oscars, they do it for people taking too long, but also for people that get up there to shout out political BS.

ClayRules2012512d ago

Yeah, his speech was moving and heartfelt, I loved it!

Ristul512d ago

He talked in slow motion, he could have said the same thing in a quarter of that time. He talked for 8 minutes, like COME ON!

FreeFallFrenzy512d ago

I've been a fan of Christopher Judge for 25 years, so I'm glad he had the opportunity to get up there, slow down, and talk from his heart. Was the best speech of the night imo

goldwyncq512d ago

"The man was deeply honoured and humbled to be up there, and nobody gave a fuck. It’s just so sad and cruel."

Do game journalists always have to be this sanctimonious?

Crows90512d ago

These journalists were the ones who thought no one gave a fuck. They're the problem. I didn't see a problem with the speech. It's the freaking game awards and he won an award. Let him speak. If you don't then wtf is the point of handing out those awards?

Gameseeker_Frampt512d ago

It seems you didn't see the speech AND didn't bother reading the article since you are saying that a journalist who calls out the poor way The Game Awards treated Christopher Judge while he was speaking as "the problem." Basically, you are ok with The Game Awards playing music over Judge's speech and flashing "please wrap it up" when he had the nerve to talk for over 2 minutes during an awards show that only gives out a few awards live on stage.

Crows90512d ago

@gameseeker

I dont give sites clicks. So yes I dont read garabage articles either. This is one such article by the headline.
Basically I am not okay with that but he was given plenty of time and the show must go on. He was not disrespected at all. Did they go on and take his mic away? No. They played the music to cue him so be quiet and dont make false accusations.

Gameseeker_Frampt511d ago

@Crows90

You deciding an article is garbage from the line "Christopher Judge took The Game Awards seriously and spoke with passion - he deserves to be celebrated for it" does say something about you.

Nothing good but still something.

Crows90511d ago

@gameseeker

So the same issue I have with the headline now I have with you. The premise that these guys are on some high moral ground above everyone else and must somehow force their sense of right and wrong on others. Yes that says a lot about me and Im perfectly fine with admitting that. Get off your high horse.

Your responses are funny especially since you take the stance that somehow I agree with disrespecting him. You base it only on the premise that i dislike the headline and didnt read the article. Yet it is clear that you also failed to read my first comment. Where in that comment did I say he should be disrespected...in fact i clearly stated the opposite...so either you have serious reading comprehension issues or your just looking for someone to put down. Essentially that is my problem with the article. It makes an effort to put people down. People that wanted it to continue, people that found it humorous, etc.

Yeah I think they're projecting a bit here, just because people are making a little bit of fun of it doesn't mean they don't respect him or his speech

Crows90511d ago

Thats the problem. There is no issue here and nobody is disrespecting his speech. This article is jut looking to attack the people at the game awards and anyone making memes.

smashman98512d ago

I voted for the guy and I disagree. The dude spent 9 minutes giving an acceptance speech. It felt like he had no regard for his fellow nominees.

KillBill512d ago

I think he was waiting for Atreus to give him a clue how to solve the puzzle of wrapping up his speech quickly and getting off stage.

How Many More Victims, Like Garry's Mod, Will Nintendo's Hurtful Crusade Create?

Hanzala from eXputer: "As Nintendo takes out 20 years' worth of stuff from Garry's Mod, I watch in shock, thinking why it continues to hurt and discourage its fans."

RiseNShine1d 13h ago (Edited 1d 13h ago )

The irony that some of the most disgusting business practices come from companies like Disney or Nintendo, i can't even begin to understand what terrible damage was Garrys Mod making to Nintendo bottom line, imho they're getting pretty nervous about where they're heading in the future, handhelds are no longer something exclusive to Nintendo, from Steam Deck to many others, now you can play the latest games and pay a fraction of the price on Steam sales, so it's up to their exclusives, which just on their own would make hard to justify purchasing a closed overpriced hardware with outrageous price policies (Super Mario Odyssey is still 60 euro 6 years later!), and as a home console they're always underperforming compared to Sony or Xbox.

gold_drake1d 6h ago (Edited 1d 6h ago )

i cam guarantee you, that their exclusives alone is what drives switch sales. they sell in the 10s of millions of copies.

nintendo created their franchises to be sort of nostalgia driven, exclusive only on nintendo.

people will always buy the pkmn games as they always bring in new younger fans amd is family friendly

mario kart, the same thing, mario games in general.

zelda games are system sellers. animal crossing for the casual gamers.

nintendo doesnt need third vame devs essentially. they made sure with the switch and the limitations that they looked more to pc ps and xbox.

its sad, but nintendo is more than fine with what they're doing. they positioned themselves to appeal to the more casual gamers.

but to your point, im not sure why they're doing this rly.

Inverno1d 4h ago

Look at how they handled Nintendo games being streamed or uploaded on YouTube in the past. They killed Yuzu and Citra even when they had nothing to do with ToTK being leaked, not to mention it was basically unplayable on emulation the week it was leaked. Smash Bros tournament, that was fairly recent. They shut down their online services without any care for purchases made. I bought a switch after skipping their last 2 consoles and handhelds but I don't plan on buying anything Nintendo in the future. They take things to the extremes, they legitimately hate their fans. They're honestly right up there with the likes of Acti, EA, and Ubi, only difference is that they disguise themselves as being family friendly all the while being shady.

Really looking forward to hearing more about the Gothic remake and Titan Quest II. I hope both games make it out this year and don't get delayed.

DeadlyFire14h ago

I'm expecting Red Faction. Maybe a few others. They claim to have many things in development.

Please something about Darksiders 4.
