If they just stop forcing the exp share thing I'd be mostly ok I think
No, and it won't natively without having a difficulty mode and better/cheating AI. A difficulty mode can disable experience share, disable switch upon opponent's faint (which you can do already), make gym levels higher, have preferred abilities/strategies (weather, terrain, status, hazard, etc...), give them items, and full teams. The better/cheating AI would be able to switch out to resisted attacks or not be set up on and swept.
The only challenge in recent years was BDSP Elite 4 and Champion since they had items.
i dont think so no, because the pkmn series in general is made for kids.
everyone keeps talking about exp share, but all it does is cutting down the grinding time and doesnt make the game easier per se.
they should make the Trainer AI better.
a game like pkmn, you can always be stronger by grinding but if the AI is smarter, that would make it more difficult. more status ailments etc. more variety in pkmn
