Absolutely not. 343i are a dumpster fire. Forge is just now in open beta and won’t even have matchmaking until Season 3 in March 2023. It’s pathetic really.
They should've been dropped after halo 5 which was horrible. Also the coalition shouldve been dropped after gears of war 4 which was also really bad. Whoever is leading those studios is just not good.
How about a compromise? Keep the name (as its a Halo reference) and gut the studio and fill it with talent with a passion for the lore, games and making everything mesh.
Unfortunately, that's the reality of live service games. It's not a hard rule, but, to me, it feels like an attempt to challenge Miyamoto's philosophy of delayed games are eventually good and unfinished games are forever bad.
I still believe that because a bad first experience is a big turnoff to me.
That said, I'm not exactly what one would call a modern gamer. I genuinely hate the prospect of games being made this way (though an argument can be made that it is a sustainable path forward for the industry—fair enough).
I kind of compare it to dating someone with a ton of red flags on the of chance that they change over time: you can get in on the ground floor, or you can pass on it until it's ready, if it ever is really is.
You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
I have a lot of good memories playing Halo with friends during the 360 and OG XBox years... but sometimes you have to know when to drag the dying dog out back behind the house and do what is necessary.
Obviously I'm stating that the series went downhill after 343 took over it keeps getting worse as time goes on. It was a mistake to ever hand the IP over to them. They've killed it, the Halo name doesn't have the same clout as it once had it.
The only way it could be saved would be to ditch 343 and have a new superstar studio (no idea who) reboot Halo all together.
But I say "to an extent" because when Bungie first left and 343 was taking over the franchise, fanboys all over this site were saying "the series is in good hands" because 343 had some former Bungie developers still there. And that was a sentiment across the internet from what I saw.
So it's hard for me to feel sympathy for Halo fans for this particular situation.
Microsoft should Give the Halo franchise to ID software and let 343 work on a new IP. If Microsoft acquires Activision/Blizzard, it can give it to one of the Call Of Duty studios.
No. They're management is bloated and rubbish. Halo infinite had at least an extra 200 developers from support studios helping 343i. 343i are too slow, much like many of MS's studios. Matt Booty and Phil Spencer need to shape up their studios as it appears these studios are taking the piss with dragging out development. It's the MS gravy train, they have such deep pockets that their developers think they can be lazy. Doesn't matter if a game takes over 5 years to develop, MS can afford it.
See what happens now that the incompetent Bonnie Ross got fired. Give the new studio leader a fair shake. If the next person fails then they need to strip it away from them.
343i and Microsoft should really consider doing what Bungie did and let Halo go. Bungie concluded the Master Chief era of Halo games quite well. 343i tried and failed to continue it. Now Master Chief is back with a fresh Cortana fighting the covenant on a halo ring while uncovering the mysteries of yet another collective of ancient aliens. The multiplayer is free to play and a live service minus the service, missing content that was included in the box under bungie.
Does anyone at 343i or Microsoft have the courage to actually make something new?

If you've played the last three Halo games, there's no need to ask this question. They've lost what made them special.
It's like someone else pointed out: 343i is to Halo what Disney is to Star Wars.
No, not unless 343 undergoes some significant changes. Just give the franchise to another studio.
