WRC Generations - PS5 Review - PlayStation Country

Michael Kitchin writes, "Whilst the presentation is stale, the driving of WRC Generations remains as engaging as ever. The new hybrid engines gave me something else to consider whilst adhering to the pace notes but the handling remained steady and reliable. The diverse locations provide a showcase or rallies present and past and, whilst the historical content has been featured before, it's now under one roof. I do wish they pushed the boat out for their final outing with the license but what's here is a solid product."

No shit... I just got the VR SW game digitally because its crazy $$ for disc.

F.I.S.T. and Forespoken i still have sealed so now I wont have to unseal them.

PapaBop164d ago

New PSVR 2 owners are in for a treat. Tales from the Galaxy's Edge is amazing.

pwnmaster3000164d ago

Nice now I can see how truly bad forspoken was

MrBaskerville164d ago (Edited 164d ago )

The combat is good. But the open world is shit. Feels like a game where they had a good foundation but didn't know what to use it for.

Might be a hot take, but it's a lot like Sonic Frontiers. Good idea, but terrible use of open world.

andy85164d ago

It was good imo. Magic system and combat were very good. World traversal is some of the best I've played. Writing can be lacking but there's a lot of humour in it. I've always said this'll be a days gone situation where people only appreciate it when it's given away 'free'. The hate mostly seems to be from people who haven't even played it

Traecy164d ago (Edited 164d ago )

Totally agree with your comment. The gameplay was fun, the graphics are decent, the story is lacking but there is some humor. Most folks that were dissing the game didn't even play it.

I actually liked Forspoken and had fun all the way til the Platinum trophy was achieved.

Christopher163d ago

So much unnecessary open world.

OldDuffer163d ago

I really liked it. Going in with low expectations, I was surprised to find a game I enjoyed. Traversal is a blast and I thought the combat was fun. The writing was a bit cringe in places, but I play games, it's a rare thing to get great writing and it didn't spoil it for me. I think plenty people will have more fun than they expect once they can try for free...but you need to get a couple of hours into it. If you can make it through that fud, your good!

There's a few in here I've wanted to try but not quite taken the plunge on.
I'm curious about Sonic, have wanted F.I.S.T. , Would try Coffee Talk and Phogs. Maybe even give WRC a try.
Pleased with this selection now.

TheNamelessOne164d ago

The Coffee Talk games are good. Wasn't a fan of FIST though.

monkey602164d ago

Shame to hear that. It's probably the one on this list I am most excited to play.

VivaLaManual163d ago

FIST is a very solid metroidvania.

gold_drake164d ago

forspoken haha.
but i might play it as long as its available.

ps2 classics are good.

Traecy164d ago

I played it back when it was first released, the gameplay is fun.

Six racing games we'd love to play on PSVR2

Since we recently tried out Gran Turismo 7 on the PSVR2, it had us at Traxion.GG wondering what other racing titles might be just as intoxicating on this epic piece of hardware.

Here's a video discussing the games we'd like to see and our thoughts on the chances of a PSVR2 version for each of them.

Profchaos830d ago

I know it's never going to happen but a midnight club LA remaster with psvr2 support would be very high on my list along with NFS underground 1/2.

I wish I could play wipeout in VR but that was the only game I really struggled with motion sickness on.

ApocalypseShadow830d ago

I'd like Motor Storm, Tourist Trophy, Pod Racer, NFS Hot Pursuit 2, F355 Challenge and Mod Nation Racers. Just to start. Could use a lot more over the years.

Abnor_Mal830d ago

While I have no problem with circuit racers,, I would prefer more open world driving/racing games in vr.

Living cities with real traffic with drivers obeying road rules for the most part. Stopping for red lights, yielding for merging traffic and traffic jams.

I use to love just driving around in Midnight Club LA listening to the radio and using my Logitech wheel. I still do the same in the Crew1/2 but it’s not the same.

I’d also like to drive through GTA5s Los Santos in first person in vr but that’s not going to happen with a wheel on PS5.

WRC Generations review [SideQuesting]

The WRC game you should buy if you’re looking for a WRC game, it's deep with content but hampered by inconsistencies in the actual racing aspect.
