God of War Ragnarok Review - VideoGamer

And so, as you play, the thread is tugged, mounding ever higher, stitching itself into a quilt of pixels and polygons. A cozy blanket, as Santa Monica Studio’s Eric Williams puts it, that takes on the shape of one of the most gripping and memorable slices of crafted escapism yet seen. God of War Ragnarok is a masterpiece.

There's that word again, 'masterpiece'. There's definitely a theme amongst these reviews!

God of War Ragnarok PC Gets Review Bombed Due to PSN Requirement, But Others Can Play Without It

God of War on PC has been review bombed by gamers due to its PSN requirement, though some can play without signing up.

Zeke681d 4h ago

So, having multiple Steam, Epic, GoG, Gamepass, Google, Netflix and so on accounts are ok to get to use the games/shows/movies you want is ok, but when Playstation does it, it's a problem for you guys?! Hypocrites...

excaliburps1d 3h ago

What's odd here is, some are able to play without signing in or creating a PSN account, while others cannot.

Zeke681d 3h ago

Well I don't defend not being able to login, but this drama is only with Playstation games. If I forgot my Blizzard password and had 2step verification on, I can't really complain or downvote a Blizzard game because I don't keep a note or so about the password and have the app installed for verification. Read those downvotes, mostly not Sony's fault at all to be honest.

Furesis1d 3h ago

People can't play the game because they are getting errors that are preventing them from getting in the game. This is a single player game, this is ridiculous in fact this is exactly what xbox wanted to do over 10 years ago but now playstation is doing it on PC. Funny how things happen sometimes.

Zeke681d 3h ago (Edited 1d 3h ago )

Yes, because "everyone" let M$ get away with it over the years, ofc Sony, Apple, Amazon etc will follow suit...
I uninstalled Minecraft because it wants me to do a M$/Gamepass account whatever it was just to play it. Insane.
But it's their game, they can do that, and I can uninstall it. Did I downvote it. Nope. No need to put energy in a game I wont play.
Maybe these dudes should do the same? If they hate Sony and their login so much, move on, simple as that.
Edit: Minecraft was my PS4 client, just for clarification. ;)

Omg i am so tired of people QQ they need to use a ps account! You have to login to: steam, epic games, gog and even to play game pass games and each game pass games requires you to sign in on first launch. So login once and stop the QQ man! And before you start i don't have a ps i play on pc/xbox

Goodguy0122h ago

There's been complaints about 3rd party applications for pretty much forever. Ubi and EA are big ones and you'll always see downvotes on those games.

I'm seeing a lot of reviews stating many are having issues even creating accounts right now. Then you have the people region locked out of the game entirely. It's also a single player game, which makes this being a requirement utterly pointless.

And this isn't just a Sony thing. People make the same complaints with multiple other launchers. There's no reason you need to launch a game in one launcher just to have another one required. If they want to sell their games directly all the more power to them, but they know Steam boosts sales. But if you're selling on Steam I really should just need Steam.

Zeke686h ago(Edited 6h ago)

@TheNamelessOne. Personally I don't play on PC apart from Last Epoch on my laptop, but I thought you make a PSN account, link it to Steam and just play with Steam?? So my comments above was like, how hard can it be to make a PSN account and link it once....
I had to do the same thing linking my Last Epoch account to Steam (once!) :)

BeRich23310h ago

Signing into a platform is different then signing into a single player game, its simply not needed.

Vits1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

Oh, great job on the false equivalence.

The only gaming account most PC gamers will readily use is Steam, because it’s the de facto platform in the ecosystem, just like PSN is for PlayStation and Microsoft is for Xbox. Anything else isn’t viewed positively, which is why any game that uses EOS (Epic Online Services), EA Play, Ubisoft Connect, etc., is often met with contempt.

With Sony, it’s particularly annoying because it offers nothing for that login. Not to mention, the login system is completely broken - just like pretty much all their ports that aren’t handled by their only technically competent team, Nixxes.

But I get it - console b*tchs aren’t really known for voicing their opinions and making sure their overlords hear their complaints. So it seems like their "pimp" is being target. PC players in general aren’t that spineless, so you’ll keep hearing their complaints, liking it or not.

Didn't they say it was going to be required after Helldivers?

excaliburps1h ago

I think it was more of a case by case basis? But I think people assumed it would be required for MP games, but not for SP.

Deeeeznuuuts51m ago

What's so wrong with making a PS account? What am I missing?

kindi_boy21m ago

I buy a game on steam and play directly no need for me to do anything else, then comes Ubisoft, EA, Sony and try to make me sign in again why? For that specific game that I just bought... What am i missing?

kindi_boy20m ago

Good hope they review it to the ground.
