The creativity in this game is astonishing. It’s not my favorite or must fun for me, but I cannot deny that it’s one of the most creative-outside the box games I have ever played.
If forced to pick, I think my personal fave 3D Mario games would be Mario Odyssey, Mario Galaxy 2 and then Mario Galaxy. Not much between them for me though, I think they are all incredible titles.
I still listen to the Mario Galaxy music to this day, fabulous music, just the thing to put a spring in my step while walking my doggos.
Agreed. There's something about Galaxy that just seems to gel the best. Odyssey was good but just felt a bit too formulaic half way through - the ridiculous number of moons to collect made it feel like a collect-a-thon. It mainly felt like a bunch of fairly easy tasks to get another piece of cookie, and the later worlds just gave me this feeling of going down a task list of events to get each moon.
Agreed.
Its my least favorite. Points lost for the crappy 2nd player option to.
I’m going to give it to Super Mario Bros. 3, but if I had to pick the 3D games I’d give it to Odyssey. That game felt like a love letter to fans.
But man, Mario 3 is really the apex of the series for me… I guess you could argue a case for World, but I always go back to 3 at least once a year.

I'd say Sunshine is personally my favorite. Though Galaxy would definitely take second place.
