For the first time in close to 20 years I'm finally excited about sonic again.

Somehow they did it they turned me around from hating the game six months ago to genuine excitement.

blackblades914d ago

I'm only excited for the soundtrack.

Sgt_Slaughter914d ago

This might be the most polarizing Sonic game to date, I have never seen the wide range of reactions like this before. That includes even Sonic 06.

The return of Silver the Hedgehog? Shadow the Hedgehog?

jznrpg914d ago (Edited 914d ago )

Shadow is different than Silver . I wouldn’t know this either if it wasn’t for my little girls . They have the entire collection of plushies and there’s a ton of them .

jznrpg914d ago

My 6 year old loves Sonic all the way back to the Genesis games . She started playing Sonic before she turned 5 and she is better than me now at the old school games and she doesn’t play them all that much. She’s just good at them but she is dedicated to beating the level and has a great memory for detail so she masters it quickly .
I am definitely getting this for her of course but I do think it’s intriguing .
It will probably be one of those love/hate games which is the case for a lot of the more recent Sonic games .
My daughter enjoys all the different types of Sonics and I enjoy playing with her so it’s a day one for me no doubt .

No shit... I just got the VR SW game digitally because its crazy $$ for disc.

F.I.S.T. and Forespoken i still have sealed so now I wont have to unseal them.

PapaBop138d ago

New PSVR 2 owners are in for a treat. Tales from the Galaxy's Edge is amazing.

pwnmaster3000138d ago

Nice now I can see how truly bad forspoken was

MrBaskerville138d ago (Edited 138d ago )

The combat is good. But the open world is shit. Feels like a game where they had a good foundation but didn't know what to use it for.

Might be a hot take, but it's a lot like Sonic Frontiers. Good idea, but terrible use of open world.

andy85138d ago

It was good imo. Magic system and combat were very good. World traversal is some of the best I've played. Writing can be lacking but there's a lot of humour in it. I've always said this'll be a days gone situation where people only appreciate it when it's given away 'free'. The hate mostly seems to be from people who haven't even played it

Traecy138d ago (Edited 138d ago )

Totally agree with your comment. The gameplay was fun, the graphics are decent, the story is lacking but there is some humor. Most folks that were dissing the game didn't even play it.

I actually liked Forspoken and had fun all the way til the Platinum trophy was achieved.

Christopher137d ago

So much unnecessary open world.

OldDuffer137d ago

I really liked it. Going in with low expectations, I was surprised to find a game I enjoyed. Traversal is a blast and I thought the combat was fun. The writing was a bit cringe in places, but I play games, it's a rare thing to get great writing and it didn't spoil it for me. I think plenty people will have more fun than they expect once they can try for free...but you need to get a couple of hours into it. If you can make it through that fud, your good!

There's a few in here I've wanted to try but not quite taken the plunge on.
I'm curious about Sonic, have wanted F.I.S.T. , Would try Coffee Talk and Phogs. Maybe even give WRC a try.
Pleased with this selection now.

TheNamelessOne138d ago

The Coffee Talk games are good. Wasn't a fan of FIST though.

monkey602138d ago

Shame to hear that. It's probably the one on this list I am most excited to play.

VivaLaManual137d ago

FIST is a very solid metroidvania.

gold_drake138d ago

forspoken haha.
but i might play it as long as its available.

ps2 classics are good.

Traecy138d ago

I played it back when it was first released, the gameplay is fun.
