Native PS5 Spotify App Is Now Available To Download

psu writes: "Spotify isn’t the only app to have received a native PS5 version lately, as Disney Plus also launched a dedicated version of its app for Sony’s new console."

Interested to know what's actually different?

Neonridr941d ago

probably nothing really. Just that you don't have to run it in compatibility mode anymore.

UI looks different from before

Neonridr940d ago

@EvertonFC - might be some small tweaks, but performance wise I would expect it to be basically the same.

Does anyone else have this issue with Spotify's shuffle where any playlist greater than like 100+ songs gets like the same 25-30 songs shuffled instead of the ENTIRE playlist being shuffled?

This is such a deal breaker for me that I might go back to apple music. I know that Spotify has a "smart" shuffle option but their "regular/normal" shuffle option doesn't work properly for me.

Pretty sure they fixed it. I had the same problem.

SullysCigar941d ago

I have this problem. My missus has the same problem on Apple music. Everyone moans about it and nothing gets done.

'Apparently', it's to do with coming out of the shuffle. Picking a song, for example, makes the shuffle reset, so you might never hear some on your playlist.

That doesn't explain why it seems such a small group of songs though - like, why does it not shuffle the WHOLE DAMN LOT? I have 1,100 songs and it seems to focus on the first bunch I added, primarily. It does my head in.

Anomander940d ago

There was a secondary app for Android I used that would take my current playlist and reshuffle it then I save it a something different. I then could play it from begging to end without shuffling or put on shuffle.

I never understood why Spotify did that either. I even would go in and clear my cache just in case something was messing up.

I hope they don't turn it into the mobile version which doesn't let free members choose songs

Wouldn't be nice if they could integrate Spotify with games, specially racing games... I know that it's not possible due to licences and all but it would be a nice feature to race hearing our favourite songs...

Chris Dring lied he said Fairgames Internally was received well. This is also the same Chris Dring who backtracked his statements about devs wanting to Skip Xbox because of their multiplatform strategy.

So much for his credibility on all things gaming.

Remember when Redfall scored well internally

I don't trust this phrase anytime it's used.

Lightning774h ago

You're right just like how Herman said that Concord was "The Greatest Mp of the Modern era"

We shouldn't trust internal hype.

"Internally was received well" means the devs played it and then proceeded to circle-jerking their own work.

Sony leadership and production team still have their jobs... #how #why

I'm glad it's failing. They're trying way too hard to make this live service slop work.

Stick to your strengths and double down there. Not hard.
