JRGs being accessible for "free" via subscription means nothing. Unless MS is reporting/touting - meaningful - user numbers, all it means is that JRPGs are on Xbox. Sigma or no.

Usually jrpg's seem to be headed primarily for Switch and Ps, so would be interesting if it turns out that most jrpg fans are xbox users.

Thats a bs response. The switch doesnt make things perfect because its portable. Its so annoying to see this over and over again. You know what would make the switch better if the joycons didnt suck as. The drift nd small joycons kill the whole system for me. Same reason i disliked ds 3ds

To be fair, JRPGs have a home everywhere but to measure based on a game being included on a service is not a proper metric of measurement. As is understood across many industries, money talks, so allow the game to be released at retail before putting it on the service. To say that a game is successful because there's a community willing to play it because it's offered as a collective only aims to measure engagement. That's all well and fine but showing that something is valuable by illustrating adoption through acquisition is a testament of truth.

Yes, I'm sure it is someone besides Microsoft's fault that XBox doesn't have Blue Dragon 2, Lost Odyssey 2, and Scalebound. Just look at all those Japanese studio acquisitions Microsoft has made in the last few years. Before Activision, I believe the current total out of 23 owned studios was 0.

Microsoft owns zero Japanese game studios and hasn't cared about jrpg's since the start of the XBox 360 era. They've only funded 2 games by Japanese producers last generation, one of which was cancelled. They've recently spent billions acquiring studios and none of them are Japanese.

Tell me again why Japanese game studios should be interested in putting their jrpgs on a console that doesn't care about them or sell well in Japan?

Good JRPGs are rare games nowadays, i dont know what else there good except for persona, final fantasy, tales and dragon quest series, everything else is mediocre, and from checking game sales, people wants more western RPGs or soul like games more than old school JRPGs
