The First Descendant Beta Is Good, but Not Enough to Stand Out - IGN

IGN : After spending time with The First Descendant’s upcoming beta test in solo play and four-player co-op, we found this looter shooter to be enjoyable enough, but lacking anything especially compelling.

I dunno...sometimes I feel these reviewers have become so spoiled that they can no longer recognize a game for its own merits. Who cares if it don't stand out. If it looks good plays good and has the important ingredients for a good experience that should be good enough.

We are hitting a creative ceiling at this point stand out games are very rare. This game looks pretty dam good so far. I only want to know if it's fun and worth playing.

It’s the opposite. Most games with decent marketing budgets get a free pass now. There’s no morality counter with reviews.
