Good they can be turned off.

FinalFantasyFanatic932d ago

The effects look kinda annoying and distracting to me, I don't think I'll play with them either.

monkey602933d ago

I wont be. I love the effects.

CobraKai932d ago (Edited 932d ago )

Me too. It adds an Auto Modellista feel to the graphics.
I love em. It adds to the style and differentiates itself from the rest of the pack.

monkey602932d ago

I really enjoy the neon aesthetic of Dirt 5 and Forza Horizon. This just looks like it ramps that up and I'm all about it.

isalas011981933d ago

So now its not just about cars and customizing your car with wheels, body kits, underglow, graphics, hoods etc, now you customize your custom effects so you can be noticed even more lol.

spicelicka933d ago

Until you have to start paying for effects.

ChubbyBlade933d ago

Really speaks to the vanity of modern players doesn’t it….

FPS_D3TH932d ago (Edited 932d ago )

You’re talking about a game that was born from riced out car culture of the 90s.

tombfan933d ago

The effects looks AMAZINGGGGGGG!!! I think it was an amazing choice by Criterion! And the customatization of these will be a buy factor for me, i'm really digging the aestetics.

EvertonFC933d ago (Edited 933d ago )

Why would you want to turn them off ?
Edit: Actually just watched the video no thx looks stupid tbh yep I'll turn them off lol

coldfire984933d ago

epilepsy is also a thing so good thing they can be turned off.

SDuck933d ago

A game about speeding around the street at night might not be ideal for epileptic people regardless with all the passing lights and such

CrimsonWing69932d ago

I mean wouldn’t the cop lights flashing red and blue be more prone to inducing epilepsy than cartoon smoke effects?

Need for Speed will return in “new and interesting ways,” says EA

Support for Need for Speed Unbound has ended as Criterion focuses on the new Battlefield.

RaidenBlack88d ago

Plz no live service only NFS.
You already tried that with the reboot which was online only.

FinalFantasyFanatic87d ago

I can totally see them doing that again.

andy8588d ago

Just give me Underground 2 remastered

Fonsecap87d ago

Don't known if you're aware, but there is a modding team remastering the game in unreal engine 5, look for it it's looking good.

ApocalypseShadow88d ago

But no Burnout since you bought the competition to kill their game. And what's left of Criterion who stayed, were put to make your game need for speed. Don't care what ways it comes back. It's EA. No buy.

CosmicTurtle87d ago

They bought Criterion for their middleware engine Renderware I believe. But the studio was a bonus.

TheColbertinator88d ago

I enjoyed NFS Heat but they never built properly on that.

When to expect a great one should be the question. Must be 15 years

Dandalandan117107d ago

Why can't they just give fans what they want?
Remake NFSU, NFSU2, or the original Most Wanted.
Or what about a new Burnout game perhaps?

Deathtracker107d ago

We've been waiting for these remakes since, like, forever.

badboyz09107d ago

I'll wait for Midnight Club😁

The_Hooligan107d ago

Same. They should remaster the trilogy. I'll buy it day 1. I still have all three for the PS2.

Michiel1989107d ago

fuck need for speed, give us a new burnout by Criterion

Fonsecap107d ago

Search YouTube for Need for speed underground 2 remaster, modders are porting the game to UE

How Need for Speed has reinvented itself for 30 years

"Need for Speed has always been too ahead of its time." An in-depth development team interview, covering 30 years of NfS.

gold_drake129d ago

underground 1 and 2 are still the best ones.

isarai128d ago

And they're spent every game after that trying to chase that high and never meeting it

Ninver127d ago

Makes you think if gamers are looking to relive nostalgia or each dev that has attempted to mimic the glory days are just incompetent?

DarXyde127d ago

Truth. Loved Midnight Club.

I wouldn't be mad at another proper Underground or Most Wanted (PS2/X360) entry though.
