Battlefield 2042's Limited-Time Event Turned Off After 30 Minutes Due to Bugs

From IGN: "DICE was forced to turn off Battlefield 2042's The Liquidators limited-time event less than one hour after it went live due to serious bugs.

The event went live on time at 9am UK time but, as of 9:32am, had been taken offline after DICE discovered that its progression system wasn't working.

"We are temporarily disabling The Liquidators mid-season event", the official Battlefield Direct Communication account said on Twitter (below). "We're seeing that the unlock rewards and progress for the event are not tracking correctly, and cannot be equipped when showing as unlocked."

Dice needs to turn off the game altogether

MIDGETonSTILTS17562d ago

Just refund and try again in 3 years.

Good luck with pre-orders in the future.

Game has been fixed and is good, people still crying about the game being broken obviously haven’t played it recently and are just complaining because everyone else did. Learn how to think for yourself, absolutely nothing wrong with the game now.

MIDGETonSTILTS17562d ago

I tried it a few weeks ago and had a small amount of issues still.

LordoftheCritics561d ago

The servers are broken.
Aiming is still off.
Rubberbanding it still present.
Mouse input still off.
Crossplay issues still not addressed.

Lots of basics still need fixing.

And yes, played last night.

I've played recently and there are still various bugs...the ground doesn't even render in some maps...its like you're walking in mid-air, other assets pop in late like character models on the lobby screen, sometimes when you spawn in on a map your characters weapon is invisible, sometimes when firing your weapon the game doesn't register the input and the gun doesn't fire...there are others but they are still there.. I personally hope they get it all taken care of because i like the game. BF4 is still the best, but there's a lot of potential with 2042.

MIDGETonSTILTS17561d ago

I hope the game is great before they cut support, but their pacing for improvements makes me anticipate them cutting bait before then.

jjb1981561d ago

Nah, the game is still broken. I watched headshots go through my enemies' faces through my scope. That's enough to stop playing and not even give it another try but I did. Then, I could not change to my pistol and I wasnt able to aim left or right. This was like a week ago in separate matches. They screwed this game and their fan base, sideways.

gamer9561d ago

Maps are all too big as they were designed for 128 players. Ruined the whole game, especially for smaller modes like 16v16 Rush.

An Update on Battlefield 2042 and Welcoming Motive Studio to the Team

EA:

While we’ve enjoyed and are proud of creating these seasons of additional content for Battlefield 2042, it is now necessary for us to turn from the present to the future. What this ultimately means is that Season 7 will serve as the final season for Battlefield 2042. After Season 7 concludes, we will continue to support the game with new in-game challenges, events, modes, and of course, ongoing maintenance, but we are moving away from delivering official seasons.

Streamer Claims DICE Paid Over 60 Content Creators for Battlefield 2042 Feedback, Then Ignored It

Streamer Shroud says that DICE paid 60 to a hundred content creators to help develop Battlefield 2042, but ignored every single advice.

GoodGuy0929d ago

No wonder the game ended up the way it did
What they should've done was ask BF fans. Most general content creators typically go for the trend and the top creators stream games like LOL, fortnite, dota, gtaV, battle royale etc.

_SilverHawk_28d ago

A lot of times people want a game to be something else and I'd probably guess a lot of people wanted call of duty or a lot of it's features.

Bf2042 is amazing now but was not so much at launch. A lot of improvements made the game an amazing game with its own identity. I'm hoping the new battlefield game coming next year improves upon everything in bf2042 and is more akin to bf3 and bf4.

Gamingsince198128d ago

I want them to do a new bad company instead

DustMan27d ago

A ton of people have written the game off now. Which is unfortunate because I find it to be one of the best multiplayer shooters available now. I've been aware that a Battlefield game has not launched in a good condition since....I don't remember. So I never played at launch due to the horror stories, but it seems to have pulled a Battlefield 4 and really turned itself around. Good stuff. Love getting 4 kills on an apc with a well placed RPG, or Stinger to a loaded chopper lol. No other game has given me that kind of joy. lol.

Kornholic28d ago

To be fair, I would not listen to content creators/influencers either.

BISHOP-BRASIL28d ago

Look, I wouldn't pee on an influencer if they were on fire, but why pay for their feedback only to ignore it?

Kornholic28d ago

I don't know. Maybe they thought it was a good idea at first but eventually found out that it was best to ignore influencers' opinions?

jznrpg28d ago

I’ll give some advice and take money for it. You can use it or not use it just make sure to pay me

badboyz0928d ago

who would've thought🤷‍♀️

Battlefield fans just want Battlefield to be Battlefield. Which means a focus on Conquest-mode (5/6 flags), some gorgeous and fun maps to play on, 4 balanced classes, and that's it.

The suits keep wanting to turn Battlefield into everything else BUT Battlefield, so first they wanted BF to be more like Call of Duty, so they copied a bunch of stuff from CoD. Then they wanted to take advantage of the Battle Royale stuff, so they went after that crowd. Then they saw the heroes stuff in Overwatch and so they brought in specialists. Etc.

Guys, we just want Battlefield. Not every games has to be everything to all people. Specialize in what makes (made) your series great, which is large(r) maps (appropriate size for the amount of players, which IMO should be 24-32 max, so not just big for bragging brights), integrating vehicle-combat, and just allowing the freedom and flow which made those matches in older Battlefield games so special at times.
