Crystal Dynamics wants your thoughts on Legacy of Kain

Developer Crystal Dynamics has released a survey asking its fans what they would most like to see if the series was to make a come back.

I would ask them to replay the original and see what actually translates to todays standards in terms of story, setting, etc.

I hope they don't misread its qualities and overestimate some of them.

I would love for a Bloodborne/Sekiro style gameplay and world. Fast paced, visceral action, with ancient from the beyond gods to take down, in an interconnected gothic world that gives way to a twisted version of itself when you do the whole reality shift thing.

I mean, Bloodborne was the sequel to pretty much all the cool gothic series from the olden days, so this makes perfect sense. Add in that Sekiro goodness and you might finally bring this IP back from the dead.

Yeah, let's make it ridiculously difficult and forget LOK was about the story, exploration and puzzles. We can't just make it an evolution of the original. Let's make it a clone of another game. That makes sense.

First of all Legacy of Kain is comprised of at least four different type of games. There is Blood Omen, then Soul Reaver 1 & 2, then Blood Omen 2, then Defiance. So your entire point it mute and nonsensical. The series was already a clone of different types of games. Some with more success than others.

Also, implying that the reason Soulbourne games, especially those from From Software, are popular or well regarded is because of their difficulty is just stupid. Seriously, it's 2022, you have to do better than that. YouTube is a thing, you know? Go for it.

But yes, making a new Legacy of Kain with an eye on what actually made Bloodbourne and Sekiro great does indeed make sense. At least you got that one right. Congrats!

Do your absolute best. Like your magnus opus. This franchise deserves it. No live service, no multiplayer, no DLC. Much better plot and gameplay than your last Tomb Raider game. I know it sounds harsh, but Legacy of Kain is something very special to me. And "Soul Reaver" was amazing. Oh, and don't screw up controls and camera on PC like you did with "Defiance". Glad to hear they're considering it, especially if you remember that they're not a part of Square Enix anymore.

There was an online battle type game based on legacy of kain. The 1at one was memorable on dreamcast and kain 2 was decent. I'd say a full next gen razeal game. Possibly LOK 1&2 remastered beforehand

A remake of the first Blood Omen would be incredible. That game's story and atmosphere are so gloomy and awesome. In fact, I think remaking the entire series at this point is required, since they need to reestablish all the lore and characters in order to finally give the series the conclusion it requires.
