The monkey, crab, bananas, enemies, and shop items are well-detailed and easy to make out. There's no trouble following the action on the screen, although there's little action to be had.
The backgrounds in games like Cascade, Water Worlds, and Solitaire look great. The main problem I have with the graphics is only found in one game: Parasail. Some of the background and foreground objects are ugly and overly pixelated: splotchy islands and hills, water with rough edges, etc."
Don't let the cute monkey on the cover fool you, there's nothing innocent about Tropix. Tropix is, to put it bluntly, a collection of 11 games that are mostly rip-offs of other more popular freeware or shareware PC titles you've likely already played countless times over. However, a game doesn't necessarily have to be original to be fun though, and this collection is made up of enough decent rip-offs to remain somewhat entertaining.

The character sprites are small, pixelated, and poorly animated; the game selection is uninspired; and the music and sound effects are horrendous. No, I didn't pick up my cell phone by accident; Real Networks is really trying to sell you free browser games for a lot more than nothing."
WP writes: "The DS version of Tropix is more or less an exact port of the PC/mobile title, consisting of a compilation of various mini-games with a few twists thrown into the presentation and menu, obviously this time out with the added incentive of touch-screen controls on the system. While it's not quite a Wario Ware experience and the mini-game selection is pretty limited, it's also decent enough to try out and can certainly offer up a pretty good distraction from the other titles available on the DS."
