A choose-your-own adventure game with unique card-based gameplay, Foretales ends up too reptitive for its own good. The Finger Guns Review.
CCG writes - "While Foretales isn’t the type of game to present a “challenge” as it focuses mainly on the narrative, and it does hold your hand quite often, it manages to be highly replayable. New game+ lets you choose other options while unlocking new choices in earlier missions. Maybe this time, you’ll get that good ending? While I probably won’t shoot for a second completed playthrough, I have high respect for Foretales and developer Alkemi. They were able to present an adventure in a unique format and accomplished what they aimed for it with little mistakes made along the way."
"The Montpellier-based (France) indie games publisher Dear Villagers and Nantes-based (France) indie games developer Alkemi, are today very happy and excited to announce that their Alkemi story-driven card game “Foretales”, is now digitally and physically available for PC (via Steam + retail) and the Nintendo Switch (via the Nintendo Eshop + retail)." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
While the moon-logic puzzles can get annoying and sometimes the game will get pulled into an unwinnable state, it just incentivizes you to play a little closer and a little more conservatively. Foretales is a gorgeous, fun, and unique take on card battlers that promises hours of play and replay, and a world you’ll want to revisit even after your first journey.
