Still blows my mind how it's being handled though. I know it's because the original remake is tied up in legal crap between multiple companies, but it's still weird.

Still being rereleased.
Still on multiple consoles.

But just an up-res of the original game though. And somehow Nintendo - the company with the absolute worst online in the industry - get exclusive rights to the online elements.

It's so weird.

It's business at the end of the day, Nintendo knows how to get the right exclusive at the right time. This is why their The Vatican of the gaming industry, few can match their business success.

You never know, Microsoft might have gotten into an agreement with Nintendo

For this version they get exclusive rights to the online but one day, if the remaster (the one leaked) does come out, maybe Microsoft will allowed to put online into that instead.
