Ubisoft is Moving To A $70 Price Point For AAA Titles

"The potential rise in Ubisoft game prices. November's Skull & Bones is its first title selling at $70 for new-gen consoles, a price other publishers have begun using in recent years and that Ubisoft hadn't previously committed to long term. "Some of the games will come at the same price as the competition. The big AAA games will come at $70," he said."

Ikr last good ac game to me was origins and that was 2017 smh

This issue here is we haven't seen any games announced that's worth 70$ especially from Ubisoft. Assassins Creed, The Division are worth 70? How bout they announce some new games that are worthy of 70$.

Christopher87d ago

I mean, they announced that AC Mirage is only $50.

Lightning7787d ago

That's a good start for Mirage. I hope AC Japan is current gen AAA only. Then we'll see if the 70$ price is worth it.

They’ve seen other publishers sell at that price point. Was only a matter of time. Once you open that bottle, it’s hard to put the genie back in.

Sony PlayStation took all the blame for blunt and now everyone will follow through

UBI games aren't even worth $60 so forget $70 for incomplete games and huge day one patches. Filled with micro transactions and XP boosters. UBI games go on sale like a month after launch

It wasn't even Sony that started it but who let's facts get in the way of a good story.

neutralgamer199287d ago

Sure so EA and Take two weren't the ones doing it along with Sony? It's not one company's fault but it's definitely greedy because we get games which launch incomplete needing patches

That's why I completely stopped buying day one games simply because every single game needs few patches

Who care their game always end up in the bargain bin by the end of the year.

I'll just wait til they give em away, like they've done practically with every one of their major releases.
