My proposal here, to try and keep things somewhat simple, is that this would be a self-contained offering. New characters, and nothing transfers to the current, live version of Destiny 2.
Warlocks in Destiny 2 are great for loads of things. Healing? We got that. Awesome PvE action? Sure! Warlock Mobility? Severely lacking.

A new Destiny 2 Cascade Point bug lets you turn boring weapons into miniguns that can melt through any boss' healthbar.
After the fiasco around its grim $15 Starter Pack last year, its refreshing to see that Destiny 2 Into The Light will add free loadouts for new players.
I already maxed out a free character just to see how far you can go, and it's not very far. They call it free to play, but it's more like a demo, which are free in the first place.
I actually love this, as someone who very much enjoyed the campaign, planets like Titan and more Halo like PvP.
It never should have been cut in the first place.
The levels were very good in destiny but damn you could left click your way through all levels
