BF2042 Future Maps to Be Smaller Compared to Base Game, All-Chat Functionality Not in the Cards

DICE has confirmed that Battlefield 2042 future maps will be small in scale similar to Stranded. All-Chat functionality on PC not planned.

Cant believe they're keeping this game on life support.

crazyCoconuts1023d ago

I paid for it and still play it, so I'm glad they are. BF has had it's share of struggles but it's still a pretty unique gameplay experience that I really like

FantasticBoss1023d ago

I'm with you on this one. At least at they are trying. If they abandoned it I'd be way more upset. Sadly, there just isn't any other game out there that offers what Battlefield does. Even a released I'm not jazzed about like this one offers me something I can't really get elsewhere. Maybe like a Planetside 2, but that game also has it's issues. Plus, I'm so far out of the loop now on that one that on the occasionally dip back into it I feel unable to compete.

I'd like to think they are going to be smaller because fans thought they were far too big but the reality is they will be smaller because there's only a small team left working on this and it's easier for them

FantasticBoss1023d ago

I'd say it's totally possible it could be either or even more likely both of those things.

darren_poolies1023d ago

Glad I didn't buy this at launch and instead got it for £10 several weeks ago off Amazon. It's not amazing by any stretch and still has bugs and issues (the ttk is way too low imo) but I've definitely got my moneys worth out of it. The season 2 update has made the game feel better from what I've played so far, and the new map is genuinely a lot of fun.

excaliburps1023d ago

Yep. At the very least, each of the new seasons have brought in considerable adjustments. I mean, the content is definitely not there and I doubt it will ever be, but it is improving.

MadLad1023d ago

I'm sure the seven people still supporting this crap are happy to be seeing any new content at all.

2nd time in a row that DICE straight up lied about future content, and largely underdelivered all around.

This game has way too many containers

theHunter Call of the Wild is the best hunting game ever made. I understand it may not be everyone's cup of tea, it can be really slow going. But the environments (they look phenomenal, especially for a 2017 game!), the satisfaction of finally landing a Gold or a Diamond keep you coming back for more. I have over 600 hours in it, my dad in his 70's has around 1,500 in it! The only game he plays, even bought a PS4 Pro for it back in 2019 lol We get on almost every week to catch up bc we live about 4,000 miles apart overseas. New Snowy Canadian map is coming out this next Tuesday. I highly recommend this one! 👍

**I'm really happy to see Eiyuden Chronicles on here. I was about to buy that one after replaying the Suikoden Remasters recently!

How’s the ballistics in the game? If it’s done well I may check it out.

OtterX9d ago

they've gotten better with some updates throughout the years, but I wouldn't say they are perfect. But they're good enough that it's still a lot of fun. If you hang around their discord a while, you'll see quite a number of avid real life hunters who are pleased enough.

Yeesh. Pretty awful tbh and the PS premium support is shocking

repsahj10d ago

They should combine the premium and extra subscriptions and use the extra pricing for it.

OtterX9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

Yea, that was my biggest complaint. If it weren't for my Portal, I would have cancelled my Premium. But it looks like they've leaned in on the streaming aspect as a selling point of Premium now, instead of the Classics. :\ I do like the streaming on Portal!

Ps plus extra has been garbage this year

KwietStorm_BLM10d ago

Firebreak has been surprisingly fun. Can't wait for the full game. And Deus Ex!

Just redownloaded the game. I wonder if it is still active

Steve_Gamer258d ago

Yeah it will be, the game just recently got a Update 1.59 Patch in September.
