PS5 games keep releasing before Xbox due to Microsoft communication failures

Xbox gamers keep missing out with PS5 games launching way before their Xbox counterpart, but why is this happening?

Yeah if they would just communicate the S can't handle the game....

ocelot07236d ago

It's a though one for them. We know it's weak. They know it's weak. Studios know it's weak. They have that priority clause. Hence why these games are being delayed.

But they can't exactly ditch the property clause. As many Devs will skip the S and alienate 75% of the Series install base. Then what would be the point releasing to 25% when it's hard to get Xbox players to buy games in the first place ?

rlow1236d ago

Stop with the defacto BS, not every game is because of the S. Some of those same exact games are running on PC portables and they have even more constraints.

Something else is up at MS.

solideagle236d ago

hey you are on right track when you say defacto BS, you just need to remove B from it :p /s

Outside_ofthe_Box236d ago (Edited 236d ago )

Well, I've reached out to Phil Spencer himself.
The response he gave sort of implied that the devs here are lying/hiding something...
He told me that "We can't comment on the deals made by our partners with other platform holders, but we remain focused on making Xbox the best platform for gamers, and great games are at the center of that"

Hard to tell where the defacto bs starts and begins 😵‍💫

Sarcasm btw since most never get it

@rlow1 said: “Something else is up at MS.“

Okay, so unfounded speculation time! What if Microsoft wants to accelerate its departure from the loss inducing console hardware business so it’s deliberately making these moves! So Xbox owners who care about third party games voluntarily migrate to other platforms without causing a PR storm that would happen by suddenly shutting down Xbox. Just a thought!

DivineHand125236d ago

Did you read the article? The developer said the series X and S version of the game is already ready, but Microsoft will not respond to them after they submitted the game to be released on the platform.

S2Killinit236d ago (Edited 236d ago )

Most likely because MS is in disagreement with developer over the state of the “completed” game. Why else would they not respond? It souds like there is something the developer isn’t telling us. Its not like developer will announce “MS isn’t happy with the state of the game we have submitted to them”.

My two cents.

sagapo236d ago

Clearly you didn’t read the article.

JL2930236d ago (Edited 236d ago )

Neither can the PS5, that's why most games are upscaled from 1440p or lower even though they sold you 4K on the box.

You fanboys have been rinse and repeat since the PS3 days, hyping everything to be 1080p and you got 720p besides rare outliers like WipeOutHD and PS2 remasters.

Gamingsince1981236d ago

Show us where xbox dying hurt you on this doll 🧸 cos it looks like you are going through a bit of pain.

JL2930236d ago (Edited 236d ago )

Sure thing, over 40 years old fanboy/N4G troll. I could care less whether XBOX succeeds or fails, unlike you I'm not emotionally invested into pieces of plastic.

I play games on what I want to because I don't live in my elderly mothers basement wasting time on gaming sites all day.

Zeref236d ago (Edited 236d ago )

So what are the failures of Playstation for not getting Stalker 2, Fragpunk, Palworld, Roblox, TowerBorne etc.?

Games skip platforms for a variety of reasons. Idk why everyone is acting like it's something unique to Xbox.

DarXyde235d ago

Perhaps I'm not up to speed.

Isn't this a mix of timed exclusives and first party titles?

I'm genuinely not sure here, but are these comparable situations? Has playstation failed to address something and as a consequence they're missing/getting these games late?

If yes, fair point. Otherwise, I think I'm missing the point.

Another bad news for MS fans, when will it ever ends

Great picture, btw

Profchaos236d ago (Edited 236d ago )

When there's press conference that announces that halo is coming to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo switch 2 the console war will have ended.

I legit think that will be announced next year Microsoft probably want one more holiday season on the market as a first party to shift as many consoles as possible probably some huge sales incoming similar to the final days of the Dreamcast.

There will likely be a next gen system from Microsoft but it's going to be more of a steam box system that can support multiple marketplaces based on leaks and rumours

Profchaos236d ago

There's so many factors at play here it's not as simple as hey the s is weak and it seems to vary case by case there's a few examples out there where the switch can play a game the Xbox can't.

Some games yes obvious technical constraints are preventing the game from making a Xbox release in the case of bg3 or likely black myth and the series s is likely at fault here so much misinformation came from black myth like alleged exclusivity deals which did not exist it was simply PlayStation was the only platform that could natively support the game

Some games like remasters built around older frameworks were removed from the series SDK so it simply wasn't possible to release those games on the platform unless Microsoft step in and work on integrating legacy frameworks into the modern SDK something they wouldn't do unless push came to shove like with Capcom.

The third example and the biggest is games simply bypassing the platform altogether because by the publishers prediction there's no chance of the title being profitable. Yes that old chestnut of Xbox gamers don't buy games is alive and well outside of AAA titles like GTA vi it's pretty much a given that launching a indie style or lower budget game will have Xbox players sitting by saying cool gamepass when.

So it's not simply just the s it's the fact the entire ecosystem is in the toilet and there's zero indication it will recover

crazyCoconuts236d ago

I think you're right, it's gotta be a series of things. I can't tell how much of it is "planned" as part of their cost cutting layoffs and console strategy vs. plain old incompetence. Either way it's not trending in the right direction.

rlow1236d ago

The developer in the article stated the reason for the delay. I guess some on here are so entrenched in their thinking they can’t except the explanation up front.

Am I supposed to trust the developer? Or a bunch of random people speculating, though they offer no proof.

anast236d ago

Probably shouldn't trust either one and have a higher standard of proof if you don't want to get entrenched in your thinking.

DivineHand125236d ago

This is a massive failure from the Xbox side of things. Microsoft should be trying to attract as many developers as possible to their platform, but this neglect is making their competitor a more appealing option to console gamers without them doing anything but their job.
