"Video game publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment and leading entertainment studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) have revealed an ambitious and unexpected entry into the multiplayer horror genre: "Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game", a new 3v7 asymmetrical online multiplayer game inspired by MGM’s 1988 cult horror classic film.
Developed by Teravision Games, this playfully panic-inducing action experience faithfully recreates the atmosphere of the iconic movie and aims to stir up the asymmetrical multiplayer horror genre in multiple ways. The game is being developed as a live service title, with multiple content updates planned for post-launch, and is expected to release early 2023 on Steam, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One." - Shepherd Entertainment and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
Richard Bailey of The Koalition writes: Halloween season is finally upon us, and with that comes a slew of scary movies, TV shows, and video games. Thanks to several notable titles, 2024 has been an interesting year for horror games. Here’s our list of 10 horror games worth playing this Halloween season.
I played through Alien Isolation, Silent Hill 4, and the original Outlast throughout the week. Not big on Halloween, itself, but I do make a point to still keep it horror month.
Yet another asym game has graced us, this time based off of the movie of the same name. Check out Tom's Killer Klowns From Outer Space Review!
WTMG's Heidi Hawes: "Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game has some creative ideas that wonderfully pay homage to the cult classic film. The Klowns look fantastic and the Klowntalities are fun to watch, but there are still just too many issues that keep it from being something truly special. Playing as the Humans feels like a huge disadvantage unless you can get a good crew together that communicates well. It’s a shame that this game feels like it’s so empty right off the bat because there are some fun times to be had if you can get matched up with other real players and not all bots. I still have hope that like the movie, Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game will gain its own cult following in time, as it’s great for when you feel like Klowning around with your friends."
I'm actually getting emotional. I want devs to stop turning these iconic horror franchises into live-service cusloppe.
Haha awesome. Loved this movie as a kid.
Can we get a Critters game next? :)
Oh hell yeah 😂. One of my favorite movies.
All these movie games couldve been so dope had they just been single player. Friday, ghostbusters, evil dead, so much promise until those multiplayer words. SHame really.
Woot! Woot!
