Shinji Mikami says he wants to ‘make his own game’ and change development culture

From VGC: "Tango Gameworks founder Shinji Mikami has revealed that he plans to make another game, and also wants to change game development culture.

Mikami – who’s best known for directing Resident Evil, producing Resident Evil 2 and 3, and writing and directing Resident Evil 4 – founded Tango Gameworks in 2010, where he directed The Evil Within.

Just do a Zombie Game... Believe me they are still scarry. Didnt like the Evil Within series because of stupid story. Didnt like the GW Tokyo neither. Just do A ZOMBIE GAME.. And call it something else ..

MadLad278d ago

But should there be zombies?

FreeckyCake277d ago

So basically, make a zombie game in a very crowded market full of zombie games. So original.

MehmetAlperTR277d ago

He is the FATHER of the ZOMBIE Games... He has orginal ideas i m sure of it.

@mehmet

His original idea was Evil Within, and you're criticizing him for making it.

He's actually the FATHER of survival horror games, not ZOMBIE games. You basically want him to make a generic game from a generic genre that has been already overdone. The guy has some of the best ideas, and making ZOMBIE games isn't one of them, sadly. Sure, the original Resident Evils were fantastic, but that was a different time.

One of the best creative minds in the industry. Hopefully MS will let him work on whatever he wants to.

TheColbertinator278d ago

Please stop doing that. Just make a cool game with zombies or dinos. Leave the "unique ideas" to washed up indie devs

MadLad278d ago

The indie scene is the only reason the entire games industry isn't this giant amalgamated mess of generic sameness that 90% of AAA releases have become.
