There is one game that really stands out that was created for the Atari 2600. During 1984 the sequel to David Cranes Pitfall, Pitfall II was a masterpiece. The addition of a sound chip on the cart, it was the first game to have in game music that changed for different scenarios. No other 2600 game had that.
This was a crowning achievement for David Crane and Activision.
The tragedy of it was, the game was release when the home video game industry was falling apart.
