Review: Bright Memory: Infinite (PS5) - A Memory in a Flash | PushSquare

PushSquare writes:

While it's hard to be too critical, considering the entire project was developed by one person and a small staff, it's also hard to even call this a full game. It's a shame because its graphics rival tentpole AAA productions and there's clear passion to deliver a satisfying gameplay loop. But a lacklustre story and repetitive pacing coupled with unnecessary additions such as the skills make Bright Memory: Infinite an uneven and jarring experience. Perhaps in the near future, given a bigger budget, developer FYQD Studio could make a more fully realised version.

I remember a time when people were trying to hype this game up.

It's a game that's highly impressive considering its made by one guy in a industry that usually has teams of hundreds if not thousands of developers. It's not even a bad game it's more of a 7/10 IMO.

Hard disagree.
Dont even know how this got in my Steam library but i've been addicted to it. Beaten it twice now and am having a nightmarish time on the hardest difficulty but good god it feels good when you ace a section. So fun weapon swapping for different enemy types, turning your pistol into a rocket launcher pistol, sniping bosses from far away while countering their long-range attacks and trying to keep an eye on other enemies slowly getting closer to you. Gotta just keep moving and keep focusing. Set pieces are sick too - grappling onto a plane being sucked into a black hole and fighting on the roof of it then grappling to another plane before it blows up.

Game's bloody amazing nonstop fun. Yeah it's short but who gives a damn it's 20 bucks and developed by one dude and also super replayable - you unlock higher difficulties and get to keep your stats, skill trees and collectables on your second and third play-through Ratchet and Clank style and achievements force you to use different playstyles if you wanna try to collect them. Get a funny feeling this reviewer ran through the game on normal just shooting everybody, came back and tried to review it. This here is a prime example of I dont trust "gaming journalist" websites.

Runs like a dream on the Steam Deck too with gyro aim and the super convenient L4/L5/R4/R5 back buttons for combos. Most fun i've had gaming in a while honestly

The friend who made the review didn't like it because it wasn't given food like big companies.

Oh gawd here we go with the "outsourced" one man army bs. Credit/clout hoarders are so 20 years ago on mobile. I'd rather have a large team packed with QA and outsourcers that are credited for their efforts. Rather than help paint this faux picture for this clout hoarding lame-ass /mr. not really a one-man army make his game. Regardless how many people are actually behind the creation, the game is a mediocre short and forgettable episodic bit. If you look at the screen shots alone, you basically played the game. This will be one of those always-on-sale entries on every online store.
