"Hundreds of megabytes" of RAM have been freed up for game development.

The SS should have 12gb, like one x, instead of 10. It would then have been able to run games that were one x enhanced instead of running them like one s.

You think that would suddenly add a couple extra teraflops of processing power to the GPU or something?

XbladeTeddy1057d ago

Yeah those 2 extra RAMs will turn the S into an X maybe download extra teraflops for the GPU too to make it even more beast mode.

Every little bit counts.
I wrote off the Series S before being gifted one, and it's a cool little machine.
It doesn't match up to PS5 or Series X, obviously, but it definitely punches above its weight. We just need to get over last generation so more developers actually fully commit to it.
There's too many titles that just run the original Xbox One version of games, instead of giving it the One X treatment.
You kind of have to research on what games will do well with the system still. Older games, I mean.

This happens with all consoles over time .The problem for the S is PS5 and X will keep improving also leaving the S in the same spot as before , very far behind them . I wish they went the no disc version route like PS5 instead

It would have definitely been better and so much easier for everyone(Devs) if ms went the same route as the ps5 consoles(disc & no disc) but With all the disagrees, I'm gonna assume those series s owners don't mind having the much weaker and cheaper version of the current gen consoles....

Why not?

Not everybody needs the best of the best to have a good time and be satisfied. Most PC gamers don't go out and buy a new GPU every time they release.
The PS4 Pro was significantly better than the original, though it didn't sell all that many units.
The PS2 was much weaker than the original Xbox, had many gimped ports by comparison, yet it was still the dominant platform.

Not everybody is ridiculously concerned about performance. They just want to have fun.

I have a PC that kicks the crap out of the PS5, and even Series X, and I still think the Series S is an awesome machine.
