TeaserPlay has shared a brand new video, showcasing what a God of War game could look like in Unreal Engine 5.
The alleged God of War game that is said to be set in the Greek mythology is rumored to have had its release postponed to the year 2026.
no surprise... this gen has been 'almost' a total wash for Sony. They has been shifting games to 26. Probably to pad out the eventual release of the PS6, which is also rumored for 26/27.

Maybe their first crossgen game between PS6 and PS5?
I´m also expecting Cory´s new game to be crossgen at this point, while GT8 to be their first true next gen only game at launch.

Everything will be cross generations. There won't be many games which will be just next generation only. As we move forward tech isn't going to give a huge jump when it comes to consoles. So why cut off part of your install base whom are easier consumers to target
We still see games being released on PS4. Sony might be looking at finishing strong going into PS6 with a lot of momentum. In 2026/2027

ps6 has never been rumored for 26. lol. where do you get your 'facts' ? this gow game has not been announced either so no one expected a release in 25.
I'll be surprised if PS6 is out before 2028, gens get longer and longer and they've no need to rush it with most of their first party yet to reveal their PS5 titles.

Man, I wish we could go back to the hood ol’ days of God of War. I totally understand the craft and talent that went into the modern version, but I found them incredibly boring. I love the spectacle and unapologetic visceral and energy of the originals. They were shocking, brutal, and completely bad-ass. Wish we could get back to those days.

Tom Henderson and Jeff Grubb suggest a 2.5D Metroidvania-style God of War spin-off is in development, set in Greece before Kratos becomes a god.
And not in a good way! GOW 2018 was not what I was expecting either, and it blew me away! However this is like a popcorn fart in church.
I wouldn't mind playing that, I'm guessing somewhat in the vein of Prince Of Persia:TLC but hopefully with better graphics.
2.5D can be done in many different ways. It could be as simple as a size scrolling game with 3D backgrounds

I was just thinking the last day, after all the fuss over TLOU1 remake, I'd love to see the GoW trilogy remade but remade as a single game. Trim the fat, alter some things for a better flow (like maybe Kratos doesn't need to go to Hades again in GoW 3 or maybe he doesn't need to spend so much time in the temple on the back of Kronos in GoW1), make it all one 18-20 hour game, keep all the epic boss fights/kill scenes. Will never happen, but I can dream.
I'm a huge fan of the GoW trilogy. For some bizzarre reason, I couldn't get into GoW4 no matter how hard I tried. I could go back and play the original trilogy without feeling a hint of boredom, but for the new one, it's just not the same. I guess the Greek mythology setting was a main attraction for me. I'm not as passionate for Norse as everyone else is.
If only Sony can remake GOW 1, 2, COO, GOS. Also remake Betrayal into a 3D game and add it to GOS because it the only canon game that I haven't played. Ascension doesn't really need to be remade but I wouldn't mind it.
Sony can just fused Ascension and COO into one game but also GOS & Betrayal into one game too.
