Final Fantasy VII Rebirth publisher Square Enix has declared a $140m loss based on a shakeup of its internal development pipeline.
What are they doing over there? Sounds like they canceled something big. I read a rumor a while back about ff9 remake . Here "Final Fantasy IX has gone through a very challenging development, the game is still in progress but may undergo changes drastic enough that we won't hear about it for a couple of years."
This could be one of the reasons if the rumor is true. That was Silknight i don't know how credible he is but it's something and it would make sense.
The industry implosion is continuing. Sky high budgets, prolonged development windows, stagnant sales numbers, and falling currency values (inflation) are wreaking havoc on the legacy industry. AAA games will slowly become the rarity.

The price will be the make or break for these GPUs. They've already stated they want their GPUS to be the best value and aiming for price:performance, so that's good.... But they're also releasing GPUs that honestly are looking more like competition with the RTX 2000 series (although with some interesting software and AI to go along with it), meanwhile, NVIDIA and AMD are moving on to their RTX 4000 and RX 7000 GPUs literally at the same time if not a few months after Arc.
So not only is Intel fighting a losing battle right now when it comes to performance. They will also be fighting against discounted and discontinued RTX 3000 and RX 6000 series GPUs which will likely be in the exact same price range with proven and supported drivers as Intel's Arc GPUs. And the used market is finally returning to acceptable pricing is only going to reach new lows once the RTX 4000 and RX 7000 GPUs release.
Cool. We do need more competition for gpus.
